The circle, expressed as a symbol, not as a number.
This is philosophical in nature. We compare things and relate them. Computer wise negative is 0 and positive is 1. True and false. Up and Down. Any thing that has an opposite can be compared to positive and negative. Yet then anything that has no opposite can be compared to neutrality. I don’t see how any comparison can be made. So at that the circle would be natural. Perhaps more or less rules are needed?
Hi Tina;
So is there going to be an actual answer to this. I'm somewhat in agreement with protheory, that positive, negative and neutral is what makes the world go round. Everything is an interaction ( action/reaction ) I can't see that happening without opposing forces.
Best,
Pat
Pro theory proves 'Potential/Possibility',
which is the TOE and the origin of the multiverse:
'Everything' is positive;
Not 'Everything' is 'Nothing', or negative;
Neither 'Everything' nor 'Nothing' is the neutral 'Possibility/Potential'.
However the problem is that the use of opposites, in any other context than that of physical location, is largely a erroneous conceptual comparison. We tend to confuse negation with opposites....but they are not the same things.
The concept of negation (rather than the black and white of opposites) allows for a third option (those gray areas) which can be more representative of the Truth of situation.
e.g. The TV is not (on) but it is not (off) either,
it is in the neurtral position of Stand-by.
Quantum Computing research needs to fully tap into the dynamics 0/+1/-1.
