Re: Horses don't know the Toe

Elk, like horses, may not know the TOE, yet the experience of birth and life are common to all mammals.

This series of photos rates among some of the best I have ever seen of an ungulate giving birth. New life arriving in the world is an expression that I never grow tired of observing and contemplating, as it is ever a small miracle to witness.

    Enjoy.

So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

Thanks LW .. I feel the same way as you do about new life.

I cry every time i see a new born baby being born, no matter who it is.

New life emerging as a ''temporal appearance'' (Image) from that which never changes ... ( The Imageless Witness)

    An unsolvable mystery.

Noone to know TOE ... for the TOE is the known..... A Miracle indeed!

The imageless is the dreamer --- the image is the dream of the dreamer.

Both are ONE, and one thing cannot exist....for one very good reason.....

The dream is real,duality........dreamt by the unreal, noduality.

It does appear that some things are simply beyond an ability to logically describe - reality is what it is. Why is the Sun yellow? We could have a lot of fun trying to analyze the universe or figuring out what forms of processing space and the body do to get an explanation but in the end, that doesn't ever appear able to give a complete picture and it will likely remain that the reason why it looks yellow is simply because that's how it looks ... and it may also be that things happen to work out just fine like that

In the meantime, it's a lot of fun experimenting with various colored sunglasses ... I can think of a sweet set of shades!

Re: Horses don't know the Toe

Consciousness tries to apply the terms "dream" and "dreamer" to it's imaginary pseudo-reality.

All analogies break down at a certain point and become irrelevant.

    There is no dream.
    There is no dreamer.

There is the phantom of self that emerges within...and is no different than..... the objectification of the sentient perceptions that are filtered through the human mind.
It is this phantom that attempts to explain it's imaginary condition by manipulating and labeling it's own stack of post-it's.
And it's attempts are as futile and meaningless as washing tar away by using tar.
And yet, that's what 'it' ''the phantom of self'' that emerges within - does apparently.
To it, the world appears to be happening outside of itself.
    It evolved to "look out".
In truth it looks out upon it's own streaming objectification.
It tries to look inward but is stopped by the fact that....for it...there is nothing inside.
It labels that the "emptiness" and...like all things..... it mistakes it's own label for an actual reality.
It calls it's imaginary condition "dreaming"......and in a way it emerges and exists within it's own personal living dream.
This is not a condition that can be escaped or transcended.
It is a most magnificent and unique perspective.
It is the best that Life has to offer and the cutting edge of Sentient-Awareness.

Re: Horses don't know the Toe

I agree with basically everything you said, though whether or not there exists anything else could still be considered a question. This view was arrived at via life and change and so it does not necessarily give an absolute perspective, as it was derived via. change and change can also be undone, nor do I assume there is ever any specific point at which all things are known with certainty ... but the cool part is that, in many ways it doesn't matter!!

Basically, if things were to be some specific way - how should they be? Personally, I know the ideal is not for things to always be something other/else/more etc. than what they are. The ideal is to have them a specific way and have them match that ideal. If it's all there, well sure, you could continue to be driven by habit/inertia (but I think anything more/"beyond" etc. in this sense is simply incomprehensible - you can't derive or relate to anything via known experiences to "get" there because all those actions are based upon things acquired in time and so they only relate or are in coordination etc. with other things in time - it's physical laws but extended to thought and reason).

Anyway, yes, I believe the intent is to simply have life be the best someone could desire - anything less would just be a pit stop and the pleasure has been to discover that life already is beautiful and appears to have all the pieces I enjoy (yes, mixed in with combinations that aren't quite as great, but it's also a pleasure recognizing that I enjoy sifting through and working with those as well and so it's become more difficult to say that there's anything specific that shouldn't have been a part of it as, just like a good storyline, events have reasons and provide context for other things and the beautiful spots in the dance arise from delicate balances previously arranged and so the flow of those becomes a part of that beauty etc.).

Of course, one of the beauties as well is that you never really have to settle for anything - it's all there, including the option to do something else. Whether or not it's a state of confinement from some abstract, intangible and unknown or incomprehensible perspective, might be unknown, but then again only form and structure appear capable of building boxes ... there's no box or logic that appears to encapsulate time or change - they are incompatible. If there's a box that exists, it's in terms of emotions and desires, though it appears that learning to work with these and being able to appreciate working within that "emotional box" is something valuable (as that's where the value of everything arises) and I assume this "box" is really something inherent to oneself and no more confining than the simple fact that wherever you go, there you are (and I don't mean that in just a physical sense, but from the perspective of any experience), and if there's a problem with that ... well, that's not a situation that would appear desirable, so in the end it's most important to be satisfied with oneself. The weather changes, walls are built and crumble etc. but the significance of all these things is self-determined. Voting systems can show popular opinion but they don't reveal anything more and can be as whimsical as the weather as well. It's nice to see something more solid that doesn't rely on "empirical data"

Horses don't know the toe because they don't have any. They have hooves.

    Understanding the Nature of Illusion.

Wake up o man, at least now, wake up.
Consider this whole creation as a mere dream.
This world is like a flower in bloom; as you watch it, it wilts right before your eyes.
Why are you so attached to it?

    — Brahmananda

'You' are an appearance in that which never dies.

'You' don't know - 'You' are the known.
