Re: Horses don't know the Toe

Yes, my comments, r.p.bibra, were regarding the fact that someone can argue or disagree with themself. The "oaf in the foreground" was an attempted comedic reference to just the "version of oneself" that's selected to present to others or just the whimsical and imperfect side our actions that tend to keep things entertaining even if from ideal perspective this could be seen as lacking.

Then again, perfection may include imperfections ... and some versions of ideals could be overly simplistic, unrealistic and incompatible with a universe of diversity.

Also, my comment regarding it being more fun to argue with Lloyd was really meant to point out that it can be difficult to criticize oneself and easier to find faults in others (who may be doing the same thing themself), and I was hoping to suggest that (at least apparent) conflicts arise with others because of this - if we look for faults, we can likely find them. Whether we look for faults in ourselves or in others has a large influence upon whether or not actual changes are possible to be made as well as whether or not there's at least an appearance of social conflict (sometimes people enjoy a bit of a brawl or competition and so not everything that appears to be a conflict in the surface truly is if you delve past the veneir).

Part of the decision involved is whether or not someone actually wants change or do they prefer to shadow box.

Truth is ... Lloyd deserves a drink or two. It's not easy doing what he does, IMO, and if I couldn't pick on him, I'd either have to find someone else, pick on myself, or give it up altogether ... whew, tough choices and I'm probably a pack rat that hates having to give up something
