Yes, my comments, r.p.bibra, were regarding the fact that someone can argue or disagree with themself. The "oaf in the foreground" was an attempted comedic reference to just the "version of oneself" that's selected to present to others or just the whimsical and imperfect side our actions that tend to keep things entertaining even if from ideal perspective this could be seen as lacking.
Then again, perfection may include imperfections ... and some versions of ideals could be overly simplistic, unrealistic and incompatible with a universe of diversity.
