And she has a nice 3-D shape that Steve felt with his hands, since he told her he had been temporarily blinded (he was hoping for a low blow).
Consciousness trying to confine itself to a conceptual format would be like light trying to shine on itself.
When consciousness tries to look inward, it sees nothing - for one very good reason.It's inside a black hole.
"Consciousness" is the label that "what-ever-it-is" gives to itself and in so doing it creates another conceptualized object
that it mistakes for a separate existential entity.
It then tries to define this objectified entity by using other labels.
When its covers are pulled, there is nothing left but the laughter.

with one word defined -- "Consciousness."
And you know what it said? It said:
"Consciousness: a well-known synonym for many other things."
...Well, sir, after reading this, the man sat down on a rock and pondered this
then reread it several times (always followed by some additional pondering),
then finally it was as though some sort of "light" ignited in his head,
and he immediately stood up and threw the book as far away as possible;
which takes us back to the beginning of the story: "In some faraway mountains...."
