Embalming a situation after it has lost its substance is like preserving it for the carrions to pick at it forever....a burial is not just deep forgiveness, but deeply respectful as you turn your face away and walk into the offer of new life....

    Could we have a burial???

    Mikal
Yes, Mikal, most certainly we can. I have been interested in hopefully becoming friends with you, as I lead a pretty quiet life and do not get out to socialize like I did when I was in my younger years. I am really impressed with Toequest, it's one of the most interesting sites that I've visited yet on the net. I look forwards to speaking with you in the future, with kind regards, Tarina

Embalming a situation after it has lost its substance is like preserving it for the carrions to pick at it forever...

Not so. It was a rare happening of live unscripted humor and comedy postings in which everyone showed up at just the right instant, as all were actually on ToeQuest at the time and so it is/was ever a wonderful happening to lift one's spirit and brighten one's health with the good effects of laughter and happiness.

It would have been good for the differences in the sexes thread.

Carry on in fun, but no carrions for picking…

The one about 'bad grammar' was a classic, too, and neither contain any fiction.

The operative in Egypt appeared to be dead. His would-be capturers had even approached and then retreated without him, not a very good sign of his liveliness. A while later, a creature who looked like Gollom emerged from the pyramid and dragged the body inside. This operative did not have with him the death-imitating elixir that could be used to fool his takers, so he was therefore sadly declared by the DIA as being deceased. And yet, out he returned alive the next day and walked off alone across the level sands.

Sometimes called the Island of Love, Tahiti is shrouded in legend:

In Tahitian mythology, the supreme creator deity was Ta'aroa, also called Rua-i-tupra (source of growth). Ta'aroa emerged from a cosmic egg and started the process of creation. To fill the emptiness around him, he used part of the egg to make the sky and the other part to create the earth. Satisfied with his accomplishment, he filled the world with all the creatures and things that are now found in it. The Tahitians believed that Ta'aroa sent both blessings and curses, and they tried to appease him with human sacrifices.

The couple landed in Papeete and stayed in a hut built on posts, under which the oceans waves splashed and sang. Now south of the moon, they could see the Southern Cross and the Magellanic Cloud galaxies glittering on black velvet.

DIA and the recent adventures eventually receded and faded as they settled in to island time and the traditions of fishing, cooking and singing and dancing on the beach, having an entire month to spend here in French Polynesia, courtesy of the Magic Dragon.

    The flowers bloomed once again…

The operative walked for miles on the sand, not an easy thing, toward a weathered and sinking spinx-like monument, noting:

Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:

    and these:

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

    (Percy Shelley)

The operative added further to this meaning:

All that you love and cherish will once day be gone. Even all of the works of human beings will dissapear in time. Everything with which we adorn ourselves shall ever dissapate and vanish.

    Yet, he strode on.

    ROTFLMAO!

Blame it on the arrival of Gollum...the lyrics sprung instantly to mind...

    Ramble On

Leaves are falling all around, It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go. The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain, and with it pain, and it's headed my way.
Sometimes I grow so tired, but I know I've got one thing I got to do...

*Ramble On, And now's the time, the time is now, to sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl, on my way.
I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Got no time to for spreadin' roots, The time has come to be gone.
And to' our health we drank a thousand times, it's time to Ramble On.

    *

Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.
How years ago in days of old, when magic filled the air.
T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah.

    *

Gonna ramble on, sing my song. Gotta keep-a-searchin' for my baby...
Gonna work my way, round the world. I can't stop this feelin' in my heart
Gotta keep searchin' for my baby. I can't find my bluebird!
But nothing's lost. Or else: all is translation And every bit of us is lost in it... - James Merrill

Thank you for your kindness Mikal. I am most appreciative of your openess, and most of all your friendship. I do lead a quiet life, if you consider a 5 yr old daughter (Coral) chasing her 7 yr old brother(Patrick), through the house, and bingo! With a holler, out pops Devin, my 16 yr old son- much to the amazement of his younger siblings...If this is a quiet life, I'm smack dab in the middle of it all, and I might add, loving every minute of it. My oldest daughter Courtnay, is staying with me with her boyfriend until they get their own place again. So here I sit in a small 2 bdrm walk-up.....
I have some plans laid out for my very near future to start the liscensed practical nurse course. It's an 8 month program, including the practicum. I have waited until my youngest child will be in school for the day.
I'm living in Campbell River on the eastern side of Vancouver Island in B.C. Canada. It's beautiful here. I cannot imagine living away from the coast of Canada! Until we chat again Mikal, Yours most kindly, Tarina.

    Re: "Norm"

    This is True

All that you love and cherish will one day be gone.

“But not yet,” thought Fredrick, “not yet.”

The secret chronicles continue, now far from what we would call reality, lying betwixt the enchanting masks of light that dwell about and amid our living film.

Magic Dragon sat back and read this amazing report sent by his operative, Fredrick, who had somehow been reborn back into the glory of the living this life:

Gollom had dragged me into the concealed burial chamber of the Queen of the Pyramid, herself nearly half as old as time. Yes, the Egyptians almost had it right, with their potions of elixir brewed to wake the dead, but they erred in embalming and wrapping the deceased, thereby insuring that they would never wake, thus their famous ‘Book of the Dead’ rather than a ‘Book of Life’.

My heart fluttered back toward life from the 3000 year-old aroma of the chamber’s tonic air that was the very spirit of life. The ancient Queen bent over me, whispering:

“This is true, my love, that the lightning now flashes in the light of your eyes. The clouds in my heart explode with the soft new beating of your own. This is true, my love. Your sweet lips become red as a blushing bride’s. This is true, my love, that the tree of life once again flowers within you. Your mind awakens to follow the guiding rhythms of my pure soul. The night shall weep dew at your sight upon the Earth anew, and the morning will surround you with the light of life’s delight. This is true, my love, that the touch of your warm breath intoxicates the being of life into and out of my spirit as well. This is true, my love, that the world will yet hear your sweet song. Go forth, my dear twice-born one to walk the earth once more and help bring evil to its knees.”

P.S. Am talking some leave in Alexandria to see what those are up to who killed me. Request Section 4.

    — Sir Fredrick

“What the heck,” thought Magic Dragon. “I, too, now believe in magic. Ah, the strange enchanting things that ‘never happen’ around here that cannot ever be told!”

In Tahiti, the universe shrunk to a point with Questor and Top Secret having now become a love-made singularity within it that ever made it the cosmos starring in its entirety. With love, came strength, that which could evermore bring the well nigh impossible into its startling being. Dragon gave them another month. Evil had been slow and struggling lately, lying low. The regular army took care of the war zones.
