There is a tale of The Avatar, The Last Airbender. He has a knowledge of the four elements of the universe. Others seek to wield and master but one element, but the Avatar is master of them all. His tale will be told, in "modern" time in format of film. This is a tale one should see, but does not have to believe.

    Re: Avatar

Do you watch a lot of movies, Meem?

While I do not often do so, one cannot help be aware of the current themes as others will be chatting about same on occasion.

Interesting that many recent movies use an apocalyptic theme, with the hope of mankind residing in a hero who blends ancient wisdom with modern science, alien technology and biology to restore the balance.

Humans are often depicted as conflicted by the paradox of logic and emotion; we theorize the ability to combine biologies, creating new life forms, or transfer of memory or brain waves, thoughts and patterns, often manipulating same. We suggest a compatability between 'aliens' and mankind in some scenarios; in others there is deep antipathy and a 'war of the world's' escalation; aliens either unsympathetic and unknowable or reduced to tears of empathy by sharing the 'human experience'.

Interesting to me, the reasons why such a theme is recurrent, and from what scriptwriters minds these stories evolve.

Now there are some brainwaves that would be interesting to ponder the origins of......

would, but I could, experience them all...

    Re: Avatar

I could not help but think of American Indians when I watched this film. Then and now, it still happens. I saw a program a few months ago, I will try to recall the name of it some other time. There is an area somewhere right now where a mining company is seeking to mine Indian land for gold. I suppose enough hasn't been taken from those savages already. Despite that particular reminder, there are a few interesting aspects about the movie that made me think.

The natives refer to the humans as the sky people, and they (humans) engineer bodies to walk around in called avatars. And even stranger, thinking of it in this respect, "sky people" being equal to aliens, angels, or the "sons of god," and the na'vi (naive?) being "man." Would the avatars be something like Nephilim. It also seems possible to say the na'vi are Nephilim, if one were to go strictly by them appearing as giants. But I am not certain if this characteristic applies to the Nephilim themselves, or their "titan" offspring.

Then there are these two thoughts, is that what we would do if we found a less advanced civilization somewhere out in space ... if we could, and is that what a more advanced civilization would do to us? If the case were the second, would one of them risk "everything" for us? The name chose for the precious rock was nicely done, unobtanium ... ha, brilliant. If people actually try to think while watching this movie, they will see there is more to look at than just pretty pictures, and the film is beyond visually stunning.

But anyhoo, it was a great movie, saw it in 3-D (A first). Personally I think I could have saved a few bucks without the 3-D effects but, I figured it is something I should at least do once.

    <H1>Does 'Avatar' Contain Hidden Messages?

by Brett Michael Dykes    December 23, 2009

Since it opened last week, James Cameron's much-anticipated film "Avatar" has won praise from movie critics and been a juggernaut at the box office. But some who have seen the film say that it contains hidden messages that are anti-war, pro-environment, and perhaps even

<H1>Some see racist theme in alien adventure 'Avatar' (AP)

    - Near the end of the hit film "Avatar," the villain snarls at the hero, "How does it feel to betray your own race?" Both men are white — although the hero is inhabiting a blue-skinned, 9-foot-tall, long-tailed alien.
Strange as it may seem for a film that pits greedy, immoral humans against noble denizens of a faraway moon, "Avatar" is being criticized by a small but vocal group of people who allege it contains racist themes — the white hero once again saving the primitive natives.
