Today I introduce to you a new forum. First, a definition is in order:
The Public Square - An open area commonly found in the heart of a traditional town used for community gatherings. Also known as a civic center, city square, urban square, market square, town square, plaza, piazza, place.I think the name also implies idle chit-chat of the kind there should be less of in the regular forums. So, instead of only saying "No more mindless chit chat in the forums!", being the social creatures we are, and the kind and understanding leader I am, I give you the public square, where all may chit chat and gossip about all matters trivial and large.
However, one rule must be followed:
Thou shall not discuss politics or religion!Oh, one more...
Thou shall use civil chit-chat only. Playful banter is ok, but mean-spirited name calling is not ok.I'm sounding like a Toe Messiah? I hope not because we've had one of those already. Then we had the second coming, then the third, then fourth, fifth, and yet again he has returned to us. He's been good this time so I wont name names. Oh, I'm sorry, I must be off topic. Actually I was demonstrating that threads may veer off course or meander a little bit away from the topic. More so here than the other forums. But, if it's a good topic, please try not to meander too far.
So, let's keep idle chit-chat to a minimum in the regular forums and any pent-up gossip or need to socialize can be released here. Anyway, that should make it easier to keep the regular forum threads substantive, void of distractions, and easier to peruse for relevant information.
Regards,
--Robert
