    Re: Daily Laughter

Little johnny was going to school every day and as tradition would have it bring the teacher a gift, he was not from a very rich family but he made due.

...one day after easter he missed bringing in a gift so the teacher asked him,

"Johnny, why no gift today, i really looked forward to your raisins, is everything all right at home?"

Johnny replied, "oh sure teach, just last night,... we ate the rabbit for Easter dinner. .. "

In traditional Chinese folkslores descirbed in the 16th century classic 'Journey to the West', eating an immortal rabbit will also make the eater immortal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_to_the_West

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang.
Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him,
"Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on 280 Interstate.
    Please be careful!"

"It's not just one car," said Herman. "It's hundreds of them!"

"Johnny, why no gift today, i really looked forward to your raisins, is everything all right at home?"
And as one who used to raise rabbits, if Little Johnny was taking teacher the pellets that had only been through the rabbit once (lighter coloured ones), he was indeed giving her a gift of vitamin K. Rabbits reingest a portion of their feces to get this vitamin that is manufactured in their own system.

Rabbits might lay Vitamin-K pellets but definitely they don't lay chocolate candied or simply those regular yolk-white eggs?

    Re: Daily Laughter

Eggs have long been fertility symbols and the rabbit or hare is a prolific breeder. The following offers an explanation for how the two symbols have become intertwined.

    The German fertility goddess Ēostre.

The Easter Bunny as an Easter symbol seems to have its origins in Alsace and southwestern Germany, where it was first mentioned in German writings in the 1600s. The first edible Easter Bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800s and were made of pastry and sugar.

The German and Amish legends were most likely rooted in European folklore about hares' eggs which seems to have been a confusion between hares raising their young at ground level and the finding of plovers' nests nearby, abandoned by the adult birds to distract predators. Hares use a hollow called a form rather than a burrow. Lapwings nest on the same sort of ground, and their nests look very similar to hare forms. So in the Spring, eggs would be found in what looked like hare forms, giving rise to the belief that the hare laid eggs in the spring.
