John .. In the bottom left corner of the poster's Avatar box in each post there are 2 buttons ... one to report a bad post, the other to increase the posters reputation ... it appears that you can only do this once, not successively. That is you must increase another persons rep before returning to the same poster again. Hope this helps

I don't know how you arrive at the statement that the soul has weight. Are you talking physical mass ?

If we follow a doctrine of 'no doctrine' we will never arrive at a goal ?

If the soul is a single strand of space formatted by our character, how do you explain space where we are not present. Does this mean an Ant or a Lion has a soul because they pass their lives in space/time ? Space is everywhere throughout the universe .... This doesn't make any sense to me

The elite are best pick of cream, being crème de la crème, the flowering of humanity, nonpareil, those “elected” to high society and the jet set, all the beautiful people, beau monde, haut monde, and glitterati, those of aristocracy, nobility, and the upper class.

You raise a fair question, PoPpAScience.

From my past work on a variety of public boards, the silent majority often does not comment for fear of reprisal.

So much for the principle of "Free Speech."

Yes, there are consequences to thinking differently than the governing herd.

Fortunately, we do not yet have "Thought Police", although I may be mistaken on that, given the pace of technology and depending on what frequency human thought actually broadcasts on.

For all of the lip service given to Tolerance, our species is not very good in the practice, and the intellectuals, enlightened, and empowered seem to be worse offenders than the primitives whom they deride.

Thank you for your thoughts and this thread.

    Hi labelwench;

In a democracy like the US or Canada I don't think it's so much a fear of reprisal, more likely just apathy.

I think in this electronic age any government official could easily track my habits, and therefore have a good guess as to my thoughts. I know if I charge something out of character they're verifying the transaction.

    Best to you,

    Pat

    Hello Pat,

In a small population of 30,000, I can assure you that many people have expressed to me privately that any open alliance to a cause that is not "politically correct" will limit their employment progression, here in Yukon, and beyond.

Many government agencies transfer laterally from the regional to the national level in Canada.

Fortunately, we also have a goodly population of resourceful people who are not slave to the consumer cycle and 9-5 lifestyle and who are adept at exercising their helpful efforts subtly, within this troubled framework.

It matters not who gets the credit in these matters to such individuals.

    Regards,

Ah yes! I lived in a small town ~ 10,000 where everybody knew everybody elses business. In America it's usually 50/50 in terms of political issues, so you are bound to please and tick off half of the population.

    Best,

    Pat
