    The value of Faith

I'm sure we are all familiar with our global economic meltdown. I read where the latest estimate for the USA alone is 11 trillion dollars loss of value in the housing market and stock market.

This loss of value essentially was caused by corporate greed followed by the loss of faith consumers had in these markets.

I remember Lloyd and I having a debate as to the value of faith. He thought it was worthless. Rather I think the value of ethics and faith is priceless.

    Your thoughts?

    Best,

    Pat

    Re: The value of Faith

The value of ethics and faith is the hard won internal battle that grows internal strength to the kind of massive boundaries we need to stand strong in the face of life's precarious nature to reflect back to us our countless errors committed along the way...ethics allows us to fix our ways more justly and faith allows us to face even the worst of the worst....absolutely no price tag can be affixed to this....

IMHO placing a value on faith and ethics detracts us from it's purity in nature and character.

Ethics is beyond value; faith in the real is priceless; faith in a flawed invisible 'concept of good' is worthless, sometimes evil in that others not for it are declared to be such.

P.S What's with the double twisted evil icon. Is there something we need to communicate with words Greg?

    Re: The value of Faith

For those of you who have problems with the definition of value, please see #3 and 4 under noun and #2 under verb. This is your word of the day. I didn't say faith was worth 11 trillion dollars I said it was priceless. You can't put a dollar value on faith I was trying to display that our entire economic system is based on faith.

    Re: The value of Faith

And this definition just for you Greg:

faith   /feɪθ/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [feyth] Show IPA

—Idiom 9.in faith, in truth; indeed: In faith, he is a fine lad.

Truly, if you don't have faith in at least yourself Greg, and if you don't think that has value, then you have my pity.

    Re: The value of Faith

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

And so I submit to you dear reader, that these three are NOT worthless but priceless, with GREAT VALUE.
