Scorpio as a Sun sign, is the one sign that is actually afforded three different sets of characteristics, depending on which date one is born. The strengths of this sign, are often it's weakness, when they fall to the negative side. Tenacious, as an example, can be an asset. Stubborn, which is a similar trait, may be either beneficial or harmful, depending on where it is exercised.

The astrological polar opposite of Scorpio is Taurus, and these two signs have the potential to become unbeatable allies or formidable opponents. I have a senior mentor who is a Taurus, and there is hope that I may learn the skills of diplomacy yet.
