Beliefs we are not absolutely sure about?

Of course 2 + 2 doesn't equal 5 to you because you haven't ACCEPTED that it DOES equal 5.
Once you embrace the belief completely and give yourself over to this belief with unwavering conviction, you'll realize that 2 and 2 have equaled 5 all along.

Quite so Melanie, embrace a belief and it becomes so,reality can be very fluid.

She means that a belief all by itself without any proof can lead one astray to come to state it as true.

A belief I'm not absolutely sure about is that consciousness is all there is.

This is my logical idea, I came to this conclusion after meditating deeply for many months.

To me, life and death are the same states, and that there is only one life expressed in a myriad of ways through mass diversity.
Conscious experiencing is shared by absolutely every living thing, as consciousness / awareness is the ground of all being.

It is either switched on or off ...... 1 or 0

It's very hard to talk about consciousness, because we don't really know what it is, where it comes from, or how it came to be a living experience in the first place.

But, I feel that consciousness lives itself alone, there is no other to be conscious < < that's deep!

Excellent post Melanie, where indeed does consciousness come from?I would say it arises from the source of life itself the Absolute, and that consciousness is energy eminating from that source and becoming motion as it enters a relative state, prior to that it was potential-energy-consciousness.

    regards michael.

While in meditation, I realized 'I' was only a thought, and that thought was a conscious thought, this proved to me that consciousness caused the thought.
It was a movement in my mind(relative)

This further proved that consciousness was all that existed, so yes, you and I michael are of that one mind waving to each other so to speak.

Yes quite so Melanie,I meditate every morning and have done so for the past 30 odd years, what I find is that like minded folk tend to gravatate together, and that there will be very similar ideas come into mind from the universal mind,as it is written there is but one truth but many paths lead to it.
