    Downgrading in an Uncertain World.

Urgent Message! The entire world economy is about to collapse!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwJKH...eature=related

One of the things I'm doing to save money is to wash-up the dishes in cold water.I rarely cook anything greasy so no worries trying to get greasy pans clean. If there is grease I'll just boil a small amount of water in the kettle. My electric dishwasher is now redundant. Another thing is to use candle light instead of the usual electric light bulb method.

I don't drink anything but water, so that's another saving. No endless boiling of kettles for hot drinks, unless I have guests, which is hardly ever.

I have no car, don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out, don't eat very much, don't buy new clothes anymore, I just wear the same clothes, the ones I've already got.

I was terminated from my employment recently, due to an injury which has left me with a disability, so I'm having to rely on state benefits, so I'm having to make loads of changes to my life style.

I downgraded my virgin media package getting rid of nearly all the TV channels, I still have internet and phone access and that has become my only entertainment, without which I think I'd go crazy with boredom.

I don't have a mobile phone, I hate the darn things.

I use the same one towel for a week before I wash it, and the same with my bed linen, I leave my bed linen for about a month before I wash them. This saves money, as every little change makes a difference.

I'm not going to be putting the heating on unless its absolute so freezing cold that I cannot stand it anymore. I'll just wrap up in more layers of clothing, or else I'll wrap myself up in my cozy duvet.

I've started to buy the supermarkets own basic brand foods, including cat food for my cat, as that all works out cheaper too.
You'd be amazed at how much more you can get for your money when you buy the cheaper brands.

I don't wear make-up, and I cut my own hair when it gets too long that it nearly strangles me in bed.

The irony is, my kids are in good jobs and are loaded with money and are having really fun lives.

I'm having fun having no money, it doesn't bother me having no money. As long as the bills and mortgage are paid, I'm happy.

And as long as I've got my laptop I'm extra happy, because I like reading stuff, I could read all day, which I do most of the time.

And I'm happy that my kids are happy because I brought them up on my own without money, so it makes me happy that they have survived.

Many thanks Melanie for you honest sharing of your life style and how you manage to save the pennies,we could all do with much less that we have got,I realise that I have all that's needed for a comfortable lifestyle, and I am grateful for it,there are so many in this world who have nothing at all,no home,no food,no money,no clothes,no nothing, living out in the open with no shelter at all, there but for the grace of God go I.

    regards michael.

Thanks michael, if we are steadfast in spirit and stay mindful of the phrase but for the grace of GO(o)D go I.
