Listen ladies and gentlemen,
Right now i'm listening to Ry Cooder, Bop till you drop.
TOE has something to do with music. What is it?
You might think this is a fake-subject on TOE.
But I can assure you this isn't, this really isn't.
Everything is there. We know it.
It's just on the brink...

Benedict;
What a wonderful start for a thread, music is and always will be the harmonies of the spheres, reality, existance, all that is and will ever bewithin this here universe resonates to a tone, and that is music in all reasonable minds. The grand law of harmonics covers this aspect well I feel. There are many tones, and subtones, thatmake up the grand orchestra of universal existance expressed in musical notes.
Thankyou for this starter-benedict.
kind regards:

Benedict, this is WONDERFUL!!! I don't think it is music per se (because, personally I listen to whatever strikes my mood, mostly blues, some rock, classical, alternative, jazz, a little opera and hip hop now and then and very occasionally, country) but harmony. There is a tradition of chanting in most eastern religions that I think is beneficial in terms of unity. My TOE is harmonic, certainly, but there are also another aspects. The harmony just aligns everything at the start. The first is only interesting if it is the beginning of something. The first is not interesting if it is the only - Djanet Sears

Analysing music kills it.

Down in Hollywood.
Swing, swing, be carefull, keep moving, keep moving.
What is there?
Without a fight. Down in Hollywood.
Oh, Jezus guys, a mess.
Rythm. Melody. Emotion. Something.
Slideguitar, hard, tender, rutheless, slideguitar. So... whats going on ?
Trouble, you can't fool me !
I'm sorry moderators. This is TOE getting practical, everyday life, in art, in music, in Ry... It's a funny thing..., You can't fool me ...
You've been cheating on me baby.
And.... TOE goes on. Good thing! Good Thing!
If you keep on fooling around baby.
Good thing! Good Thing!
Rythm. melodie, story, brilliance, exciting, uplifting, taking away, mesmerising, moving, taking you up. Up! Why? How? How can it does so????
Why this power of music on me?
TOE-thinkers, be alert! How can it does so???
When you love, when you love, when you love baby....
Mystery, enigma, we know, it's there, I love my love, I know all of hís/her, I know, I know, I know everything, all of his, all of her; but what is going on, in this, shit!, in this ?
Next,
Music, my dear fellows, understand music is at hand.
You keep on moving right on through.
This mamma...
Burbank.
Enclose the enigma...
You could solve Elvis you know.
Please forgive me.
But music, fruithfull !
PS. Look for 'My father told me..." "The very thing... " Why? Why does it impress me so much ? Again and again. What is it ?
Is this researched yet ?
They don't know nothing, nothing of life, these researchers, these so called scientists.

Harmonics is an important aspect to the functioning of physical interactions. Wave dynamics will provide understanding of the physical nature of the TOE (GUT) but as yet I have not been able to ponder its consequence to the phenomena of LIFE. Do you have information leading to the harmonics of life? David

I think all music is closest to the toe, as all music is harmony, and harmonics resonate universally. Music seems also to be locked into the human psyche, and how it effects the emotions, and can cause so to cry, with the beauty of the melody.

I think music is a kind of abstract representation of reality, or a kind of condensed form of reality, reality larger then life, reality with all its main elements and emotions and desires.
Once I heard the works of Shakespeare described all of life, all it's main elements of drama, failure, hope and aspiration. Music is similar to that, but less concrete, more approaching the essence of things. Still expressing something differentiated and complex though. A TOE is simpler to that. I think if the works of Shakespeare represent this universe, the TOE is it's alphabet.
Nice respons. I think music, and art in general, and the art of play, is just a good path towards the TOE then science is - or maybe it's a far more fruithfull path - and maybe science should expand it's domain towards art. At least scientists like Manfred Eigen and Ilya Prigogine did.
MK-HG- harmony must have something to do with TOE. As in it in essence, aligning, as in it as something to aspire.

Benedict, you have in a nuts shell said it all!Alignment! We have to align ourselves to the natural harmonies of the universal melody? Then the TOE will stand revealed!

I have always felt that the Theory of Everything can be found in the rhythm of everything. I believe everything has it's own rhythm, movement, vibration, from the unseen to the obvious. Everything gives off it's own personal hum, tone, sound. I feel the tone is lower in the material and gets higher in the immaterial. The string theory is based on it's vibrations. These vibrations can be broken down into mathematical equations for you math geniuses out there. Being a retired musician, I feel music plays a more important part in our lives than we realize.

Chazzysaw, absolutely mon frere (although I have to think about the application of string theory to this notion, I hadn't considered it in that light). Once about 3 1/2 years ago,I actually heard the trees hum! This was on my way to work, a place I'd passed thousands of times before and since, but only once heard it. It started me wondering if everything gives off a hum, but we can't hear it (kind of like how animals can hear stuff we can't)
Certainly I have felt the urge to sing (and done so!) in some pretty off-the-beaten track places (Vietnam and Cambodia, in some ancient temple complexes) and have felt differently after I did so. Of course, this doesn't hold any empirical weight, but, nonetheless, I felt closer to truth.
Lately I have been wondering not only about math and music but geometry and music also. If you have any thoughts on that, I would love to hear them! The first is only interesting if it is the beginning of something. The first is not interesting if it is the only - Djanet Sears
