Greetings Everyone,
I am writing a research paper about the possibility of a TOE and whether or not it is even plausible for one to exist, let alone be discovered; be it involving superstring or some such theory or on a more philosophical scale. I am posting this thread as a request for a possible email or telephone correspondence with someone who has significant knowledge and considers themself an expert on this subject. It would be helpful if my corresponder had credentials and was not just an ordinary blogger, but a bona fide researcher. My email address is NtRpsz @aol.com. I have become quite interested in this topic since skimming through Science and the Akashic Field by Ervin Laszlo, and The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. The prospect of a TOE is, needless to say, mindblowing and possibly life-changing, and it is great to see a group dedicated to it.

For a research paper, its progress always takes time. I do hope that more fruitful materials being invited/presented on this website on/before March 10, 2008 upon its 5th Anniversary will have some certain value for your reference.

Human needs reviewers upon those plausible theories of everything.

PS. One more thing, you mentioned the word Credentials in your last posting. If you can unveil a general credential (not specific nor traceable) of your own, it may trigger more valuable correspondences.

Welcome to ToeQuest.

Are you an university student?

You are right about the theory of everything having such importance.
It's the modern day search for the Holy Grail or the Philosopher's Stone.

I have my own theory which incorporates both physical ( strings, quarks, protons ), as well as the metaphysical ( I ching trigrams ), into what I believe is a unified whole. It even enfolds and discusses the internal dimensions to create our 3 dimensional spatial reality. you can access it at:

There are a number of theories out in this post, from strictly physical to strictly philosophical, and some with a mixture.
Some are very formal and some are informal.
Some are easy to understand and some are difficult.
Most are under "Your Theory of Everything" thread.

We are a diverse group here, and while I am a professor at a university, my discipline is in accounting and not physics, and so I lack the credentials that you are seeking.

Hello all,
Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. This research paper is actually for a Composition class, so it won't be very technical but instead will be in somewhat lamens terms. I probably won't include many theories themselves but mainly viewpoints on whether an accurate one exists, or can be proven, and so on. Therefore, the paper will have to be readable to the average Joe. But, understandably so, I would like to interview an expert in the field simply for credibility's sake, and pick their brain about a TOE in general.

As for my own credentials, I am simply an interested student looking to spread the word about the phenomenal work being done on this subject.

Instead of rehashing what I've already written, I'd like to further this investigation by asking what people think about string theory, is it a viable TOE? Or is the answer even simpler?

Nate, if you are still around, perhaps you could start a thread in the string theory forum, or peruse there for more information. The former would enable an open discussion with more than one point of view. Of course, your paper has probably been handed in now!
