Is there someone who would explain in simple lay language what exactly is expected from the understanding of, if there is one, a t.o.e. Will it be expected to be able to give reason why, for example, I am asking this question? Will it be expected, if I understood it, to give reason to really everything?? If I understood it would it show why my car wont start??

To understand why your car wont start, you dont require a ToE, you simply require a mechanic to answer your question. On a ToE, I doubt whether it would answer any metaphysical question like 'why you are asking a particular question'. It would answer specific questions to Physics.

If this is the case do you think that it might make sense for those who are still searching for it to have a list of things that it might relate to and a list of thing that it doesn't relate to? Or, are you suggesting that the understanding of and the knowledge and skill required to be able to repair my motor has nothing to do with physics, if, this is the case, so that I can understand, would you please help me by, in simple lay language, to understand what you consider Physics to be? in anticipation.......arthur

Physics is just a system of trying to formulize how the material world works in order to manipulate it to our best advantage. How to make things stronger, lighter, faster, easier but with a high degree of repeatablity. That's all it is.

You see, driving your car is polluting the air, which is giving the planet a fever called global warming, that warming is killing everything, which in short unites your car, the air, the earth, you and me, all life, all things, or the univese. Your car not starting is a good thing, is good for everything, a truth and unity of everything, or in other words a TOE.

Well Arthur, Physics has been able to answer most of the phenomenon that we see or notice except some things like-

1) Why is gravity such a weak force?
2) Why cant Gravity be derived from other fundamental foces? In essence why cant we relate gravity to the other forces?
3) Why are Relativity and Quantum Mechanics immisible like water and oil when both work perfectly well in their own field of influence?

and such sort.

Once we can answer these questions I beileve we will have a ToE.

A toe is an unlimited amount of knowledge. I don't mean pages and pages of knowledge I mean an UNBOUND knowledge.
Lets consider why your car won't start. It is a limited question. There is a limit we need to apply to understand that problem. Lets become unlimited. Assume it wont start because the weather is very cold. Now why is the weather cold. Coz its winter. Why's it winter, the earth is tilted away from the sun or something I'm not sure about it never been good in geography. Why's is tilted away from the sun? We can give some reason. Now why is that and why is that?

The final why would be the TOE?
At that stage all our creation would have simplified to a matter which is a few seconds after creation, all the forces would be united all we know would be one single entity. So, we try to unite all the FOUR forces. Because force is a drive to do something. If we could find a common drive for everything, then its as good as finding what makes everything. So the TOE.
Well if the mechanic knew all this and started to explain it, nobody would have the patience to listen to him. His job is limited.

A general unification theory will reveal to us the fundamental mechanism used to create our world. It would also point us in the direction to look for the reason for life, consciousness, etc., which are things we generally don't relate to physics.

If we were to work from the foundation of a true general unification theory outward, it would be realized that it's the fundamental foundation of a TOE. This would give us the tools we need to probe all and any realm of our world: reality, existence, counsciousness, universal mechanics, etc. It would unite what could be viewed as abstract entities in our world with those entities we view as universally fundamental, because all things are truly fundamental, else they wouldn't exist.

Being as the TOE is the tool for understanding, it could be used to probe all of history through every instance of time/cause and effect, to the point where we understand universally , or relative to existence, why your car won't start, but we probably would still lack the mental capacity to calculate every instance of time/cause and effect, which would allow us to mentally recreate every moment from a theoretical begining to the moment of your unfortunate incident. In other words, the Toe gives us the how, why, where and what, but it too is at the mercy of the when/time. It can explain the when also, but that's what it's been doing since this all started. The total amount of time from a begining to an end of our universe is how long it took the TOE to reveal all instances of cause and effect. Thus, we probably can't recreate any part of it in any less time, which would allow for us to instantaneously understand something that is in essence cause and effect and has been happening since the beginning.

P.S. I hope your car cranks, and I hope you enjoy driving it, because if it too wasn't needed, it wouldn't be here. Some people think man is set against our world, and has the power to effect it in a negative way, but we don't have that power. We are blindly doing that which we a fundamentally here to do. If that, which we do by our actions, appears destructive to our immediate realm, then the destruction of that realm is constructive to a greater realm we currently don't understand. Any self realization of our actions that causes guilt which slows the process down is merely the universal mechanism to govern our progress for a reason. Our consciousness is our connection to the universal direction we must go in, which drives the universal vehicle of mankind, and our emotions are the steering wheel.

If we choose to believe that our conscious actions could ever be destructive to the direction we must universally go towards, then we might as well quite searching for a Toe, because we have effectively inserted a variable that could never be accounted for. Thus, true understanding of a Toe needs and must have a direction to go in and all things in existence must contribute to that direction or flow. If you want to know why you are here, look at the things you do in day to day life. A Toe will merely let you see how that flows with the rest of the universe.

ToE for my mind will also help in removing certain misconceptions, like how the Universe was formed, much like how the misconception of the shape of earth was removed in the 18th century..
