Dear David Maes:

There's a lot of different interpretations of time.
A standard definition is an interval of motion between two or more locations in space, this constitutes what Einstein was inspired to call 'space-time' - he considered them inseparable.
It matters not whether anyone is observing or measuring or not.
Time is motion.
Einstein also identified time as the 4th dimension.

Lotta contentious controversy on the subject.
Hope yer question evokes more answers.

You might refer to http://forums.delphiforums.com/EinsteinGroupie.
There's alotta stuff about time, there and then that applies to here and now.

Regards,
- RP

(George Berkeley, 1710) ... lay the beginning in a distinct explication of what is meant by thing, reality, existence: for in vain shall we dispute concerning the real existence of things, or pretend to any knowledge thereof, so long as we have not fixed the meaning of those words.

"All things come out of the one and the one out of all things." - Heraclitus
"Reality is an illusion - albeit a persistent one." - Einstein
"Particles give me a headache." - Ibid

Another take on time;

There
Is
Myth
Everywhere=time.

Reverse time and you have the word EMIT,the mirror image of time is emit,emittance
is wrought out of the absolute,and when reversed,becomes time which =relative!

regards michael.

Hello David,
Contemporary science views time as something man has conceived, HOWEVER…..
Time has the behavior properties of a geometric vector, DIRECTION (future) and MAGNITUDE (seconds).
Magnitude is measured and observed with motion, the balance wheel rate within a watch.
Time is NOT motion.
Time is change
The answers to the question ‘What is Time?’ will not be found in contemporary science.

Einstein also identified time as the 4th dimension.
Einstein did not believe in an expanding cosmos, nor did he understand the role of time. Up to his death, he searched for one function, which would describe everything in nature. I believe he would have found it, if he had accepted cosmic expansion.
Time cannot be viewed as a particle, or as a substance. It is not tangible. However its ‘existence’ can be measured by displacement, a change of position verifies and yields our conception of linear time.
Time has one more property to consider, a mathematical property………The derivative of time is time….. AND……. the integral of time is time.
This math property implies that TIME is CHANGE.
Mathematically and Geometrically, TIME is a VECTOR of CHANGE…
The observed passage of time may be viewed at any point in volume space as a three dimensional FLOW of CHANGE at that point. Interrupting this flow by encapsulation is the basis of time travel theory.
Time has spatial properties and exhibits multidimensional characteristics within our cosmos…

Again these views will not be found in contemporary science.(Einsteins Physics)
Happy Thoughts…Q7

ab=(a-b)\ddot{U}
Hi Ant
These absolute quantities in transient form of motion always +1 ... or -1.... to unity which do not have a value of one as the event of unity would be instantaneous and negating the infinity location coming from of the quantity as you put it in infinity approach by a finite unity event. How would this marry conforming to dimensional analysis? Could the scaler for a Unit that does not exist in transient form quantifiable be so accepted then? It may be good for the macro though I admit. Or maybe you can describe to please the term unity to get my platform level on this.

thank you ~Peace Graham
