hey there
you guys sound like you have some sound advice or knowledge on this topic.
this makes me super happy...because....im stuck! im doing an assignment on the Tristram Shandy Paradox, which as far as I can gather, is based on the concept of a man who starts to write his autobiography and realises that it takes him one year, to write about 1 day in his life.
he reasons at this rate, he will never finish his book, because everyday he lives, adds an estimated 365days for which he must write about it. BUT the theory is (please correct me if i am wrong!
i want to be wrong hehehe)
that if time in infinite then he'll never run out of time and he'll get the story finished? I really dont grasp that concept. Then theres a whole other REVERSE tristram shandy paradox.....
see, i guess im looking at it wrong because, no matter how long he lives for, he wont have the extra time to write about every day in total, for example - what about the day he dies? the only way I think he can write about his whole life is to start writing faster and the more he writes, the more skilled he will be and it wont take him a whole silly year to write about one day
oooookkkkkkkk
can anyone pretty pls shed some light my way?
ill be forever grateful!!!
