A pdf is a format for an ebook, same thing iow, and the link I gave before for the free pdf maker is as easy to use as printing a document. Once you have your material gathered, it can be designed and manipulated using any word-type program and then to make the ebook you print the entire document using the pdf maker and it's done.

If you're looking to sell it to a large market, I'm sure you're aware of the necessary ISBN proceudres, etc.. Then the security settings can be set in the pdf maker accordingly requiring a key to be purchased. It's difficult if you're unfamiliar with it, but it's one of those learn-in-an-hour programs that essentially means if you know enough to post here at ToeQuest, you can do it yourself, RP.

I understand you might be looking at another year or so, but just thought I'd lend a thought or two to keep at the back of your head for when the time comes.

Thank you, Nobody.
I'm definitely not interested in selling the book.
I wish it to be available, free of charge, to the public, in as many trafficked locations as possible. That's what I thought pdf and ebook was contingent to.

RP,

www.createspace.com will put a book on Amazon as both printable and as an e-book for you from the pdf and will even give you a free ISBN and bar code (that normally costs $100). You can probably make the e-book nearly sell for free there, but the printable book may have a slight printing fee. Both have a cut for Amazon and a royalty for you if you want one.

It's the best deal ever since there is no cost to you and it's good to put it there because Amazon alerts their customers who buy similar books.

Hi Austin & Nobody:
Do you happen to know if I will be able to transfer the book from 'articles', here on TOEquest, or, will I be required to re-write (data enter) the entire work from scratch copy?

Also, I'm looking for a way to post it for free to the public (at other locations), as it is posted here, although I guess e-books and pdf's don't allow for free public access - is that right?

Not sure if I understand you right, but you don't have to rewrite anything, RP, unless you wish to alter the text or diagrams. You can transfer any article to the book maker by saving all of your stuff in files or one large file - as html, doc, etc. - and upload it. I can upload it and store it on my server if there are any size restrictions on your server. From that point, either Austin or I can download it and manipulate it to your satisfaction, and then create the book from the file/s.

I'm fairly sure that if you want to reach a wide market, you have to charge. Otherwise you have to promote it yourself on your own site, by advertising on the search engines and book forums, etc.. There might be sites that promote free books, but I'm not aware of any.

I hope you're not done trimming already, because that would be damn scary!

Here's an example taken from Part I of the Total Theory, RP. It took less than a minute.

http://www.corb.permahost.com/total.pdf

I'll delete it after you checked it out, if you wish.

Much thanks for your informative response, Nobody.
Gotta be candid here regarding my ability to upload - 'saving stuff in one large file':
I don't know how to do that.

Sure is good being told yer willing to do that for me, because I'm mentally handicapped when it comes to this kind of stuff.

It looks like a lot of the 'addendum' material is going to have to be 'trimmed' - is the duration of the document what concerns you, Nobody?

Do you mean that it needs abbreviation?

Well. It sure is rewarding - if surreal - to see that copy in a book text format, just suspended there (somewhere on the net?). I guess, since it's only an unfinished beginning, it should come down, now that I've seen it. I cannot say in words how mysterious all this is to me.
Apparently the illustrations that include motion will be motionless?

If a 'charge' is necessary, I have no idea how I would collect it - is there some way you can share with Austin, whatever that may be?

I sure hope you two continue to hold my hand in this venture - this is all new to me and I really don't think I can carry out this mission without you and Austin.

I guess I'll be able to edit (update or trim) it furthermore, once it's in place?

Meanwhile, it's my intention to edit it while it's in place here, as an article, on TOEquest.

I just snail-mailed Austin some different illustrations and it sounds like he may be drumming up to contribute some other material of his own - I certainly hope so.

Repeat: Is it the duration of the material what you'd like to see 'trimmed' (abbreviated)?

Hi Nobody:
As the editing proceeds, a lot of the off the cuff, slapstick 'humor' is being deleted.
Also, several of the google acquired illustrations will be displaced with some of the ink drawings from several previous editions of my book.

Austin: I just sent some more illustrations via snail mail.

Got the snail. I'll work on it with my income tax.

Also, I'll make a front and back cover for you — they can be in color even for a b/w book.

What tittle and subtitle (optional) do you want and what other words? Should we put Einstein on the front? 8x10 book size OK? 6x9? Fill back cover with big picture or with summary?

Am currently reading how the universe is expanding so fast, that in 5 billion years we will be left all alone in an island universe with the other local galaxies combined into ours.

There's another snail enroute as of today - you'll probly get it Monday.

Title
TOTAL FIELD THEORY:
Reinstatement of Steady State & Cosmological Constant
The Big Bang is Wrong

Einstein cameo ink drawing on the front sounds good.
Let your artistic inclinations determine the size?
Affix your signatures in your own way?
Back cover w' big picture - although I'd also really like to see you do something in an introductory opening and a closing summary context.

If you think a closing summary looks good on the back cover, by all means do it that way.
All cogent illustrations encouraged.
Can you do that electromagnetic granny apple in b/w also, at full size?
Also, the small detail of a stem, on Isaac's falling apple in Albert's elevator?
Whiten the rectangular reflection on the grenade apple?

If you encounter some relevant material, include it?

Working w' an artist such as yourself, I can only ask you to freely improvise, while staying on topic.

People love not only your artistic innovations, but also your text...

We'll coordinate this furthermore as we proceed?

- RP
