Hey there, Austin:

I did think you were bigger than the guy in the photograph.

Can you produce larger? For ToeQuest - and publication?
I've got a new computer tower with microsoft word that allows illustrations.

That's what I'm working on now.

When I"m through updating on the word processor, it'll go to the ToeQuest articles site - hopefully near ready for publication. I'm indenting paragraphs and using wordspell also.

In preparation for Nobody's - and your - editorial evaluation.

So far, there's 267 pages (my other word processor program didn't let me know that) and it's near completion, not counting the addition of whatever selected illustrations from what you transmit.

When I know exactly how many pages there are I can do a Table of Contents.

If you can make the illustrations with writing on them larger, please do.
Hoping to completely replace several existing illustrations with the one's you're sending.

It was surprising that you sent what you did that soon after receiving the mail.

Rascal,

OK, I'll make them maybe 8 inches for ToeQuest, but our book size is only 7x10, so 5.5 or 6 is good for that—but you can resize them in the word processor by doing something like clicking on them and dragging a corner (and perhaps hold the 'shift' key down if they don't resize in proportion).

An 8x10 book size is also available.

I see that you spent some money.

They're resizing nicely in the word processor, as per your instructions (w'out need to hold the shift key down, so far).

Rascal,

That's good about the resizing. Now you have more wonderful problems of trying to fit the drawing on a word processor page, but no problem in ToeQuest, for it's just one very long page.

I've never used Word, but it can probably make a table of contents if you somehow tag the points that you want in it.

I am in the scanning-in phase of the rest of your drawings.

Also, if you bought a large monitor, everything on ToeQuest will look smaller unless you change the monitor settings in some control panel.

Hi guys,

There is always the option of formatting the image properties if you know the exact size you want. Word is very easy and you should have no problem designing and redesigning your stuff.

Though I'm not sure if you can export pdf from Word, and I believe Create Space requires that. You might have to get yourself a pdf printer driver if Word doesn't have one, or I could do it once the work is uploaded here.

Btw, I knew right away that wasn't you, Austin...no red dress!

Hello friends:
This is just to let you know of a tool by MS that they like to keep hidden. The reason for this is that they discovered that they gave away too much power with this tool. It can be found in the extra tools of the MS office 98.
You must either select all tools, or go in and select the

"MS PHOTO EDITOR"

I think this is the best one as found in office 98.
IT can convert almost all formats.

(.bmp-.jpg-.gif-.pcx-.tif-.png-.pcd-.tga)

Open a file in one format and use save-as to save it in the format that you want. It can turn a 2 megpic .bmp in to a 80k .jpg

IT has all the tools to rotate, size, fit to window, also print,
it can even make a thumnail for an icon.
It can also be used with a super hi resolution flatbed scanner.

I have never tried this in any system beyond W2K.
I refuse to use anything beyond W2K.

When you upgrade, this gives them the opportunity to take back what you have already purchased. This lets them sell it again.

Hey Nobody,
I'm hoping you can handle what needs to be done when it's moved to ToeQuest, because I sure as heck don't even speak the technical language, much less practice it.

Hope you take note of John's information about the Microsoft Tool, also.

Houston, I have a problem.
The illustrations transfer from here to ToeQuest Articles, and from here to Microsoft Word Processor... But, they do not - that I know of - transfer from Microsoft to ToeQuest Article, or, to this very space - thread - in ToeQuest

Erstwhile, I've spent the past week editing the ToeQuest Article and transferring illustrations to where I've got it in my new MS word processor, which I just learned will only transfer text back to ToeQuest...

Is there a ready solution to this?
Is it possible to transfer the entire Microsoft Word Processor copy to ToeQuest, with the illustrations?

I'm not entirely sure about Word, I use programmable OpenOffice which can preserve formatting, but Word should have an option to export or save as html (in the "File" menu) which you would upload here. The pictures have to be changed from where they are on your computer to the server where Asutin has his pictures, or the ToeQuest server, or they will turn out as "X" boxes.

You have to change the properties of the image so that the image in Word reflects the right location of the picture. You should see a url in the image properties of Word where you can change the location. When you right click the pic in Word, there should be a menu item that says "properties" or "formatting" to change the above.
