“Hypothesis on MATTER” is a revolutionary new concept, which explains all physical phenomena based on just one type of postulated elementary particles - the Quantum of matter. By their inherent nature, these particles form, latticework formations called ‘2D Energy Fields’. Space contains infinite number of 2D Energy Fields, each one in its own plain, extending in all directions. All physical phenomena, from the origin of matter to gravity and subatomic interactions to cosmological events, are based on the simple mechanical interactions of quanta of matter in the 2D energy fields. There is no need to envisage actions at a distance or to invoke irrational assumptions like diversity of forces, mass-energy equivalence, constancy of light's speed, dual nature of electric charge, singularities, big bang, etc. This new concept will radically alter our understanding of the physical universe and at the same time, explain complex physical phenomena with simple Cause and Effect relationships.

Depending on the nature of actions,(only one type of) natural force is manifested in various forms. Matter is the only real entity and it is in the form of quanta on matter. 2D energy fields are the all-encompassing medium for all apparent interactions between matter bodies. During actions, latticework structures of 2D energy fields are distorted and magnitude of distortions is the work-done. Rate of change in the work-done is the force. Strain developed in the latticework structure during its distortion is the energy. Distorted region of 2D energy fields about a matter body is its distortion field/matter field.

2D energy fields, inherently, tend to maintain their homogeneity and isotropic nature. 2D energy fields tend to move into any gap in them by the moving into the gap, even if another entity occupies the gap. This tendency of the 2D energy field, to compress an entity placed in it, is the gravitational action. Gravitational force is proportional to the extent of 2D energy field, acting at a point. Extent of 2D energy field between two entities is less than its extents on the outer sides of the entities. Resultant of gravitational forces, acting on the entities, pushes them towards each other. This is the apparent attraction due to gravity. Gravitational manifestation of the force is the most significant (strongest) and nuclear manifestation of force is the least significant (weakest).

2D energy fields create basic 3D matter particle - photons, the corpuscles of light - by gathering and compressing free quanta of matter, to change their dimensional status. Photons are disc shaped matter bodies, whose spin speed is proportional to its matter content and linear speed is constant. Two compactable photons form a union of self-sustaining primary particle, biton. Two bitons unite to form a tetron. Number of tetrons form a spherical shell to form a neutron. Three compatible bitons form a union of hexton. Hextons are two types, electron and positron. Positrons develop spherical shells by attracting tetrons. One tetron shell formed on a positron makes the fundamental particle, proton. Two tetron-shells formed on a positron make the fundamental particle, deuteron (presently, understood as one proton plus one neutron). Deuterons are major components of nuclei of atoms.

Distortion field (of a hexton) may be resolved into three components. Linear component is the magnetic field, angular component is the electric field and the radial component is the nuclear field. Electron has two magnetic south poles and positron has two magnetic north poles. Electric field of both electron and positron are identical. Electron has repulsive nuclear field and positron has attractive nuclear field. Relative direction of an electric field is its electric charge.
