Fact of The Truth

Truth that doesn’t remain valid and intact when put to an analytical test breaking it down to the lowest common denominator is, by any meaning, a half-truth, let any number of theories support it. In other words, if it is truth it ought to be simple, very simple to the core. Truths are, in fact, self-powered to simplify themselves. Bigger the truth, more it tends to be simple, in form as well as in its communication. With our incomplete knowledge, we are condemned or say blessed, to live with half-truths. We have begotten our so-called truths by virtue of backward working of the reality or rather mere perception of realty. Truths so established will, always and only, contextually hold good. The ultimate truth, be it God or ‘a theory of everything’ shall encompass the reality of all the realities combined together. The ultimate truth has eluded mankind through out its existence but at the same time, its quest has given the backhand reward of incredible feats.
The first quarter of the last century, a very exciting time for theoretical physics, unfolded a very certain uncertainty, which made the color of truth look gray until then known to be black and white. Truth was no more- 'this is' and 'this is not'; it became the best possible average of all the probabilities, calculable but not identifiable, workable but not doable. It was there but it was still not there. Science heretofore went in a probably right direction in a directionless space. The scientists were making their points without pinpointing anything. Classical thinkers were left aside scratching their heads. The new jargon was all Greek to a non-scientist participant, howsoever educated he may be. For a layman it was just goobledegook. The lowest common denominator on the communication side, the common man, was neither interested nor ready believe in this so-called theory of everything. It then became a jigsaw puzzle for the handful who are now addicted to the game. The most serious lot of the chasers became skeptical and doubted the existence of such a theory .The answer made the question more complex, so much so that one tends to believe that the final truth even if it is there, is beyond the comprehension of human mind. But that too if true is again simple and clear-‘truth is beyond our comprehension’. Also it remains valid and intact, when analyzed to the last extent.
The route to truth is, by nature, long and complicated; to the ultimate truth it can be indescribably complicated. We have known it pretty well in our existence. In such a journey, chances of getting lost are enormously high. In fact, there is always a sense of having got lost. Therefore every new thought, however trivial it may be, gives a feeling of having found a new way. A way that in the beginning seems the best of known so far, hence exciting till the sense of having lost overpowers again. This, to me, sums up the quest for TOE, of last many decades after the dawn of quantum mechanics.
For centuries, it seemed to the scientific minds that the universe has to be deterministic since to their belief ‘God will not play dice’. But at this passage of time we don’t mind it to be non-deterministic but need a proof of the same. To be honest so, we are going in the direction of finding the fact that ‘we cannot find the truth’.

Gautam,thanks for your well written article on fact of truth,I tend to agree with your thoughts on this,however I would add,that the "fact of truth" can only be discovered
from "within" it cannot,and will not be found from "without".

There is no doubt that the truth has to come out from within. But science is a search for truth'without' with a hope that it will be the same as within.
Observer is as much a reality as the reality itself.
