Could our months be mixed up? I'm feeling a pinch in October instead of in Cancer. Anyone else feel a pinch in October? Libra and Scorpio is midpoint of Aries so the balance lies there. Capricorn is opposite to Cancer so the Myan 12/12/12 will come in Cancer but that's in the wrong month. When you go backwards, 4 seasons (or ages) from Aries to Capricorn, which might also be a cycle because it's going backwards and Aries represents new and Capricorn the end. This also sounds biblical. Didn't the Catholic church change the calender? According to what?

Don't you mess with the calendar Sally.

Octavian decided to come up with 2 extra months July for his great uncle and August for himself. Thats why September which means 7 is now the 9th month same with October which means 8 is now the 10th month, ditto for November which means 9, now the 11th month and finally December which means 10, now the 12th month.

Pope Gregory came up with the Gregorian calendar.
Needed to do that so the winter soltice would be the same each year December 21st.
Caused a few riots back in those days. You paid your monthly rent and a few days later your rent was due again.

BTW the Myans think the world is ending 12/21/2012, not 12/12/2012

Best to you,

Pat

Why? Cause the knuckleheads you mentioned already did? What gave them the right to do that? Did people even use calenders before AD? How did they keep record of days? Isn't that strange how even the numbers started to go backwards? What was the last numbered year before AD?

Ok, cause I tried multiplying 12x12x12 and I got 1728 and that was close to the number of years in an age and there being some controversy over the number of years, I thought it might be giving a more accurate number.

Hi Sally;

Well one was a Pope and the other the 1st Roman Emperor. But in your world Sally you can do what ever you desire.

Before we went to Anno Domini ( AD translated IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD ) and BC ( Before Christ ),
I think they would go by in the 8th year of the reign of Augustus. in the civilized world, or maybe something like the 12th moon of the great flood.

I just didn't want you to be disappointed if 12/13/2012 came around and nothing happened.

Lastly, now it would be 1 BC then 0 the year Christ was born, though I guess the Pope got that wrong by 4-6 years meaning Jesus was born 4-6 BC. I don't know how he was able to be born Before Christ, given that the Pope is infallible.

Best to you,

Pat
