    Not necessarily expanding

    To All:

    The Universe is not necessarily expanding, it is based on the ubiquitous observer, if we are the observer, and our instruments of observation are still trying to reach out into the known universe, it seems to our point of observation that it may be expanding; however if your point of observation was from a distance of 22+ light years from Antarctica as an arrow the knock of which is in Greenland, then as it appears that pi-eridani is moving closer to our "Sol" system, it appears to be contracting.

    The point is that the universe as we know it is in motion, and as to whether it is expanding or contracting is based both on your point of view and your theoretic, or religious preference. If you "Believe" in the "Big Bang", it is expanding, if you don't, it is moving, if your point of observation changes, you may say it is contracting. Quantum Dynamics only shows that it is in motion, and does not define a direction, that can only be done in the antiquated and religiously and dogmatically protected vector, tensor and high-topology planar mathematics; in true 4D math "Quaternians" it has been shown that parts are contracting and parts are expanding based on our point of observation.

    Hello Professor Palmer and JAK;

    Professor Palmer;

    I'm hoping you are a professor of physics and not of accounting as I am.

    I never heard before that we can only say that the universe is moving. Is that like everybody can claim to be the center of the universe?
    Whether or not you bring a very interesting slant to my understanding of the universe.

    A belated welcome to the Toequest forum from me, as I am anxiously awaiting your next post.

    JAK;

    I am in total agreement with your premise that a true TOE will reveal much more then just putting building blocks together.

    TO BOTH OF YOU;

    I would like to invite you to look at my idea at:
    ( http://www.toequest.com/forum/your-t...03-idea-4.html ). It is 8 post down from that at post #40.

    It's very easy to follow, albeit highly speculative.
    It goes from stings to man, and while it doesn't end with me looking in a mirror, it does end with a picture of my beautiful grandson.

    Very best to both of you,

    Pat

    Dr Palmer,

    Firstly, I'm not sure whether you can give yourself a professorship at a made up university and expect other people to take it seriously! It also seems strange that both the "professors" at your "university" hold undergrad, grad and doctorates in medicine, and then a "PhD." May I ask what this is in?

    Anyway, I'd like you to actually reference what you are saying, with publications in peer-reviewed journals, please. The fact that you state that Kaku's work is the basis of all your own work in your first post, is enough to set off alarm bells.

    Welcome to TOE Professor Palmer,

    I liked what you had to say.
    But I didn't fully understand the Antartica, arrow example.
    I would say:
    If one can't define the extent of the universe, one can't possibly know it's expansion or decline.

    BRAVO - But I would add that parts of Universe are possibly STILL or at REST (prehaps Dark Matter???)
