Re: A Little Tiny Point - Stephen Hawking's Universe

While surfing the internet I came across this concept:

I don't understand what a spin network is ( perhaps Neutralino or Antonio can help here ) I did think when discussing a tiny little point, this may help us define what the structure and dynamics are of that tiny little point

Re: A Little Tiny Point - Stephen Hawking's Universe

A spin network is a way to describe a dynamic quantum fabric of spacetime, which is based only on it's relationships to nearby portions of itself. Thus the term monad.

Thus far it is the only working background independent description of spacetime at a quantum level, the basis of Loop Quantum Gravity, and eerily similar to the descripion I arrived at of spacetime as a mesh of threads.

I'm disappointed that I wasn't included in the (perhaps Neutralino or Antonio can help here) note, as this is one of my areas of specific study and extensive understanding.

I'm sorry Max. You and all the members are invited to answer my questions. I should have included you specifically in my question.

    :P

Was just teasing, I haven't really made it known that I began studying LQC and Spin Networks after coming up with a similar description of spacetime.

Wish I knew how to contact Smolin besides an expensive ass phone call, is there some sort of e-mail address which won't get filtered by universities and such?

    Hi Max;

Dr. Smolin has his own home page which list this e-mail address:

Yeah, but to date I suspect he's got various sites filtered like yahoo and gmail and whatnot.

    Hi G_burnett, Pat and all,

I was a little bit puzzled about your idea to "cool energy down and you have matter." My understanding about energy is that its smallest quantity of energy is a quantum particle with a definite quantity of energy, moving at the speed of light and having a fixed gravitational pull. Since the quantum particle can not loose any energy it can not slow down but it remains a constant. However, when it reacts with other quanta particles it can form part of an electromagnetic radiation and also it can be structured into sub-atomic particles.

Pat, your "Penrose (1971) described 'spin networks'," is very interesting and I hope someone can explain it; I find difficult to connect it to a comprehensive theory of the universe.

    Yours Cosvis.

Loop Quantum Gravity is what you should look into, if you want to see how spin networks connect to a comprehensive theory of the universe.

Also, I would think that you would excite energy to produce a matter state, not reduce it's energy. e=mc^2 says that a little mass is a whole bloody lot of energy.

I stand corrected in the attempt to depict in the simple.

My understanding is the quantum particle can lose energy in the sense of ability to do work as it state condenses to where the condense state with curtailed motion is with a measure of potential but not used.

Harvard has stopped light for the example in recent years in a near zero sodium chamber where then they picked up the frozen light and put it in another cloud and let it go.

It lost it ability in a condense of potential is my thought on it .. thus have attributes of "mass with potential" a state of exist.

the excite of electron in atomic structure by a resonant wave in a medium of transfer ...thus gives in a change of orbit (to use the term) of the electron ... creates ability to effect other substance through a medium or orbital release of the electron to effect other ... thus a radiation event where the other is excited to heat measure view ... mixing some thermo dynamics here .. the term aether is still not one of commonality me thinks from some reading but then i am an independent researcher not attached so much to the protocols in terminology but to try an communicate in terms of others specific to there expertise so i apologize not able to recognize the platforms of ponder at times an trying to figure them out to understanding and further ponder.

    Kind regards g.
Max Planck, said that “all matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particles of an atom to vibration which holds the atom together. We must assume behind this force is the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.

and ....from an old master ... Ancora impara!

Re: A Little Tiny Point - Stephen Hawking's Universe

    Hi G_burnett and all,

To my understanding of the quantum particle, it is a universal constant with a definite quantity of energy that can not be lost and thus to me, it is the most basic particle of energy. But I agree with you, that light or electro-magnetic radiations can be slowed when it is passed through a denser medium eg. light passing through water. However, this does not mean that the individual quanta particles that make up the light, are slowed down or have lost energy; it could mean that the individual quanta particles have to travel further, eg. moving from one atom of the water to another as it moves through the water.

    Yours Cosvis.
