    Re: T.o.N. (Theory of Nothing)

"Infinite Cosmos (a.k.a. 'god')" is a reference to your proclamation that Cosmos is god, and this is why you need the conception of context in order to understand variable meanings and directions of communicating verifiable deductions.

My theory is to be verified by each individual, where they absorb what is useful to them. It isn't everyone's empty cup of tea, and for some like yourself it leads to jealousy, which explains why you keep following me around all the forums continually denigrating my viewpoints.

Not that I'm angry, I'm flattered, but I push everyone to their limits so they can learn who they are, and why they respond the way they do.

    Well, Good on ya, Nob!

I push everyone to their limits so they can learn who they are, and why they respond the way they do.
And why might you do that, then?

People look after the things they have affection for. It is thus essential that we learn to have affection for the planet that sustains us.

"The sense of threat from every quarter of what is known as the Establishment – which is to say, of modern civilization – is not altogether a put-on or an act for many of these young folk, but an actual condition of soul. The break-off is real, and what is being bombed and blown up outside are actual symbols of interior fears." - Joseph Campbell

    Re: T.o.N. (Theory of Nothing)

On second thoughts, forget that, as you won't have an answer anyway.

This is becoming quite hilarious though...

Mirrors don't have an ego - Not that I'm angry, I'm flattered - I agree with myself
...my claim is that motion is illusory - All theories have to be based on motion and change in order to function.
God forbid it, Austin . – Keep your religion and contradictions out of my thread!
Yet you denigrate others in order to breed contradictions, while hiding behind smilies. - No, nothing doesn't exist, pif, and the Infinite Cosmos isn't god. Further, I have no beliefs, but apparently you do...a belief in contradiction and Cosmos religion!

...and I don't have to say a word...you do it to yourself.

I do it to help others help me help themselves.

It produces a chain reaction, noticeable in how people alter their viewpoints in their responses.

More ironic I would say, because you're only hurting yourself without even realizing it.

Lastly, it is very easily verifiable to look back to see who started what and when.

So your contradictions are deliberate then? - And that last word should be ourself, do you not think? Otherwise, what is your motivation for wanting to 'help' anyone at all?

It produces a chain reaction, noticeable in how people alter their viewpoints in their responses.
As I have been saying, this is because only Truth exists in Reality (they being the same thing). When confronted with their own contradictions there is no longer any 'choice' for people to hide behind the false. Again, the essence of the scientific method.

More ironic I would say, because you're only hurting yourself without even realizing it.
Since it was me that pointed this out to you earlier in the thread,
"... it is very easily verifiable to look back to see who started what and when." - unless one of your friends pops along and edits the thread, of course!
...I understand where you get the 'irony' from...It is obviously 'created', internally, being another metaphor for contradiction.

It's good that you are beginning to see your own 'irony' though. In this regard, we most certainly are all helping each other. But we are not helping ourselves by denying the Reality, and thinking we are only here to 'help' others... Hopefully, with this realisation, we can all shave our contradictions a little, leaving the bare skin of Truth exposed and toughened to the winds of change..

"Truth exists in Reality (they being the same thing)."

When you study enough, more than your two years of study, to see the contradiction in your above statement, then perhaps you will understand the absolute can have no concept of "in" whereas infinite can.

    Hello All,
I have been perusing threads and found this one very interesting, if I may suggest, as previously on a different thread, kindly read "Chasing The Wild Pendulum"; by Itszak Bentov, affectionately know as 'Ben' to his friends and colleagues.

So what are photons attracted to ? I thought they were chargeless ( like I am on occasion ) and therefore neither attractive nor repulsive.
Rather the photon is created when mass is converted to energy. The positive negative moment happened at the time of annihilation or fission.

The photon is viewed as the mediator of the force, isn't it ?

Well once again you have me confused Nobody, so if Somebody could elucidate, please do.

    Best to all,

    Pat

    Re: T.o.N. (Theory of Nothing)

    Pascal's Wisdom

Q: I have difficulty understanding the basic cause of mental and emotional suffering. Will you please explain it as simply as possible?

Pascal’s Reply: We do not content ourselves with the life we have in ourselves and in our own being; we desire to live an imaginary life in the mind of others, and for this purpose we desire to shine. We labour unceasingly to adorn and preserve this imaginary existence, and neglect the real. And if we possess calmness or generosity or truthfulness, we are eager to make it known, so as to attach these virtues to the imaginary existence.

Q: We seem to be on a futile march. Our desired happiness recedes before our eyes as we approach it.
Pascal’s Reply: Let each one examine his thoughts, and he will find them all occupied with the past and the future. We scarcely ever think of the present, and if we think of it, it is only to take light from it to arrange the future . . . So we never live but we hope to live; and, as we are always preparing to be happy, it is inevitable we should never be so.

Q: You state quite correctly that our minds often refuse to see our actual unhappiness, because we prefer to live in dreamland. How can we conquer this self-evasion? Are our emotions more honest than our minds?

Pascal’s Reply: We are not miserable without feeling it.

Q: A group of us at the office have been discussing the topic of individual happiness. Will you please supply an idea which I might add to the discussion?
Pascal’s Reply: The greatness and wretchedness of men are so evident that the true religion must necessarily teach us both that there is in men some great source of greatness, and a great source of wretchedness. It must then give us an explanation of these astonishing contradictions. In order to make man happy, it must prove to him that there is a God, and we ought to love him, that our true happiness is to be in him, and our sole evil to be separated from him.

Q: It may be shocking to reveal our weakness to ourselves, but of course it is necessary. How can we learn about our weak points?

    Pascal’s Reply: Observe yourselves.

Q: The mystics speak of an inward friend who is more powerful than all exterior enemies. What do they mean by this?
Pascal’s Reply: Notwithstanding the sight of all those miseries which wring us, and threaten our destruction, we have still an instinct that we cannot repress, which elevates us above our sorrows.

Q: What is the basic cause of all problems?

Pascal’s Reply: There are people in the world, who, having renounced all the laws of God and nature, have made laws for themselves which they strictly obey.

Q: If I could hear the answer to this one question I could spend months thinking about it. The question is, why do we suddenly run into difficulties and disasters which give no visible warning?
Pascal’s Reply: We run carelessly to the cliff, after we have put something before us to prevent us seeing it.

Q: I was once told that I must have as much knowledge about what is wrong as I have knowledge of what is right. Why is it not enough to simply know what is right?
Pascal’s Reply: The knowledge of God without that of man's misery causes pride. The knowledge of man's misery without that of God causes despair.
