Lloyd, my reference to your agreement with my position, refers to the absolute one that I had thought we agreed does not exist outside of its relative functioning. I had thought that our disagreement was due to the mechanics involved in the infinite model which I still remain to proclaim is an impossibility. If you would like to have another go at it, to explain how infinite contraction can result in finite systems, I'm willing to consider it if you can depict the process differently than before.
Neutralino, if you can explain how the decimal points are bridged to render the infinite as absolute, I would love to have a look at what you got. I think it misleading to say that the majority would find reason to concede to what appears to be a blatant misunderstanding of "positions" - similar to the analogous analog-digital conversions, or renormalization, where there is an infinite amount of information lost; there is an infinite number of positions lost in your assesment of what the "1" represents, unless you are stating that infinity has a limit.
Lloyd has also submitted that near-absolute zero is close enough to be absolute zero, but understand that my position is based on the absolute state being equated with no motion whatsoever, so there can be no degrees of freedom allowable. So 0.0.....1 kelvin is not the same as absolute zero; just as 0.999... cannot be the same as 1 - being in the strictest absolute sense equated with zero and non-existent in and of itself. Following then, only the relative abstractions - which are infinite - can be said to exist without ever reaching the absolute state. If you are familiar with the noumenal, then my proposition is that the absolute non-existent state equals the noumenon of which all illusory measurements are empirically- and theoretically-derived as a result of time dilation which renders "c" constant through the cmb.
