First of all, what's a mirage? Mirages are not optical illusions, as many people (and Web sites!) think. They are real phenomena of atmospheric optics, caused by strong ray-bending in layers with steep thermal gradients. Because mirages are real physical phenomena, they can be photographed.

If there is only the seen, where does the extra I come from that you say is seeing the seen ?

I always like your posts, Melanie, but I disagree with you because the I sees.

Allow me a sidestep to how I see the concept of I by going back to a possible beginning for that sound.

In Dutch and Flat-German, the word island is pronounced very much like we do in English, and it means the same. But it is not written that way, because in sound there is no s in the English word island: it is pronounced i-land. Same goes for Dutch and Flat-German, but it is written without that inaudible s.

What can be said about the i-land is that the very foundation of an i-land is that it is isolated from the mainland by water. While it is there, it does not have the mature functioning of the mainland with all its connections. The i-land is the whole thing, but it is not the mature whole thing.

As a nice side-step, the Dutch word ei-land translates into egg-land; in German the word for egg is Ei. And an egg, too, is an independent entity, yet it is not yet mature. What I like about this possible link between egg and I is that it is found the other way around too. In Dutch and German, I is ik and ich respectively, so the connection is full (yoke and all).

Long story short, the I already contains all, immature as we may consider it. Hence, the I sees. What I am more worried about, is whether the chicken coming out of the egg has two eyes or not. Some are born one-eye blind, you know.

Everything known is inseparable from this knowing which is inseparable from this sensing/sensations and this power/controlling... this 'supra-consciousness/awareness' is ever 'unchanged' and so is said to be 'real'...

as hard as you look all you will find in the senses are sensations that they appear to be something they are not is an 'illusion''... it does not exist... it has no reality...


'the known' is all concepts (number form and meaning as One)... this 'known'... as it IS... is not a 'concept'... 'what' it IS cannot be said... cannot be explained... as 'seeing/colour' itself... cannot be 'explained'... for 'seeing/colour' too is not a 'concept'...

as for 'knowing/known' and 'seeing/colour'... so with the other senses/sensations...

and yet... every concept is known... so yes... 'what' is known is a 'concept'... though 'what' a concept IS... is not (known)

Kudos to you Fredrick...I love it "I-land"...I call it the inner space of self-validation so I guess we can see it in varying ways. Interesting analogy...
