    Any idea?
    Hi Dipayankar;

    Mass and energy are conservered. It's just spread over greater distances. It appears the proton is a stable particle with no 1/2 life, though theoritically it's been suggested that the half life may be 10 to the 35th power years. Or 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years. If they do decay then only the energy in photons would remain.

    Best,

    Pat

    The issue is we do not know what would be the age of the Universe. Otherwie we would know whether the proton would actually decay or not.

    Re: An Idea

    One of the reasons I think the three quarks configuration is similiar to my model, is that it doesn't appear that the protons have a half life. I can't imagine any form or glue or gluons being eternal. However if the three quarks are really one entity ( The Proton ) then I can't imagine them decaying even though the proton has quarks as components. ( No Free Quarks )

    So you mean that quarks are a part of Protons only. What about electrons.

    Hi Dipayankar;

    Mesons are also made up of a quark and antiquark. Electrons are leptons, same as photons. Of course I believe the electron to be a field or ripple in space created by a projection from the proton.

    Yes it is especially since I made a mistake classifying a photon as a lepton, which of course it isn't. It's a force carrier which means it's a boson. Too many "..ons " Hardrons = protons; leptons = electrons; Bosons = photons.

    No, but I have collided with them and had my face smashed with them.

    Re: An Idea

    So Prof. there would be equal number of photons as well as electrons.
