i think the question in most physics is the reality of containment.
the bow wave that was created in the initial expand would have pushed all that it could that may have been there ... thus said what is there that does not fit to the ability of the bow to have pushed?
Dark matter IMHO became dark by only one possible scenario ... indeed the ash of the inferno as it has been mentioned on this site some where,
proof? ... re-stoke a camp fire perhaps this year in a ponder?
idk .. kind regards graham

They now put sunglasses on cattle so that they think the grass is greener everywhere.
In the future, global warming will give us days that are so hot that the corn will start popcorning right off of the stalks. Then the cattle will think that it's snowing and freeze to death.
The void would have to possess a dimensionality for there to be a distinction that it is expanding in relation to it.
The truth is, the expansion of the Universe is just a property of it, much as left, or down, are.
The expansion is an illusion imposed on us by our being embedded in time.
The Universe is already fully expanded at one end of time, and it is entirely folded up at the other end of time, but those are just spatial states.
This is what time is, that is why I call it a hypercone.
It is a cone that is folded over itself in a sense, or around itself.
We aren't just in a position within space, our entire visible space is a position in time, but that time is not completed by this position, it has a significantly broader extent.
As for the exterior, that would be the dimension by which change would be measured in different Universes entirely, no reason to assume a void, rather it should be a sea of cosmoses.
The initial light would be the light of possibility, but it didn't need to be created, oh by Thor language fails at times like this.
Step up and out of your time impaired perspective, try to understand that we are a portion of the Universe viewing it from the inside, as a mote within a diamond, we are barely able to view the facets, much less the entire jewel.
Emily: Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Stage Manager: No. *pauses* The physicists and mathematicians, maybe they do some.
I don't know about cattle, but they actually have put tiny spectacles on chickens, with the intent of blurring their vision and stopping them from pecking each other to great harm, when housed in large flocks. It was deemed to be kinder than de-beaking, a process which removes and cauterizes a portion of the top beak . In many cases the beak would regrow over time, and so a subsequent procedure was required. They now put sunglasses on cattle so that they think the grass is greener everywhere.

Chickens do, indeed, have a pecking order, and they are militant in it's maintenance, from personal eggs-perience of raising three flocks of layers, including a batch we hatched here with an incubator.
So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

Hi Graham
Last night the BBC Horizon programme spent an hour looking at dark matter (needed to explain the rotation of the galaxies), dark energy (needed to explain the apparent inflation of the universe) and now dark flow which is needed to explain why all of the galaxies appear to be being hoovered up by an unseen force!
The overall conclusion was that there is something fundamentally wrong with the standard model for cosmology (i.e. the big bang through to the current situation) and we need to look afresh at our basic assumptions.
Nuff said?
regards
Felix
PS - if you want to watch it just google' bbc iplayer' then go to 'BBC2' and select 'Horizon'
And woe to us if, blinded by illusions,
We detach ourselves from the dancing cosmos,

Hi Max;
In Math it's called the undefined dimension. It's potential is to become any dimension which occupies that perticular area.

Pat

What assumptions Felix? The theory is based on Einstein's relativity theory and much evidence to subsequently support it. It seems like they are the ones doing the assuming. remember when you assume you make an ass aout of you and me Ass U Me. I have no problem explaining expansion and galactic formation using only open and closed strings.

Pat
