    Re: An Idea

To be or not to be,
That is the question (or answer)
Of "why there is something rather than nothing?"
[seemingly this the most unanswerable question!]

    — BottomLander in the ChatBox

    The Eternal Ground-State

(Zero-point energy, Quantum foam, Vacuum Energy, etc.)

There can be no level of “God” adjoining here,
For this energy can be neither created nor destroyed.

It will always be with us and it always was.

    This is because something cannot
    Have come from Nothing,
Nor can it ever become Nothing.

This cuts out all possible Gods
    At the source,
    The source which never was,
    Including the Deity.

If there had been a total lack of anything
Then that would still be the case,
But, it is not, for there is something.

The “great question” of Why there is something
Rather than Nothing is stated backwards,
As if Nothing could do anything.

It can’t, for it has no properties,
    Meaning “not to be”.

So, Why does anything exist at all?
    Because it had to,
For it is impossilbe for there
    Not to be something,
    As Nothing is not productive.

Nor is God the energy, the particles emitted,
Or Nature, for this state is restrictive.

If one still insists that God is nature,
This is but like saying that the universe is the cosmos,
For a rose is ever a rose is a rose.

    One boxes themselves in, then,
To claim God, for then one
Cannot explain what is beyond the walls
    Of all the stop signs,
And thus has only opened the gap wider
    Rather than closing it,
By the posing a larger question instead
    Instead of addressing an answer.

As the ground-state must be eternal,
    There was no creation,
    And thus no Creator.

Do you think there is a God in a parallel or multi-verse?

Only an evolved really smart alien guy, for all things possible must eventually happen to evolve in the multi-verse.

My post was really showing the necessary eternalness of the ground-state, but God fell out of it, so I put that in for completeness. I really have no preference or belief; instead, I follow what becomes known and go from there rather than what one might wish for.

The eternal ground-state is the natural and normal state of affairs, it would seem, for Nothing just couldn't do diddly squat.

Is it possible that God evolved from the ground state? Is it possible for those three quarks, which are eternally bound, to obtain awareness?

    Re: An Idea

Bruno's cosmology is marked by infinitude, homogeneity, and isotropy, with planetary systems distributed evenly throughout. Matter follows an active animistic principle: it is intelligent and discontinuous in structure, made up of discrete atoms. This animism (and a corresponding disdain for mathematics as a means to understanding) is the most dramatic respect in which Bruno's cosmology differs from what today passes for a common-sense picture of the universe.

    From Lloyd's post # 6641 above.

The ground state.......does it require a seed? Is it a 'growing medium?' On a universal scale , of course......

Such thoughts just occurred as I was misting my seeds, only just planted on the 7th, and noticing that many of them are now sprouting. Petunia seeds are the next thing to nothing, so fine are they, and generally devilishly tricky to germinate well, but this lot is looking to be off to a grand start.
So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

The ground state is the seed, Tao if you will, through whose existence and essence, expanded or stretched to become our universe.

May the force be with you.

Yes, the ground-state would be like the TAO, which is saying the same.

The Church was unhappy with Bruno's infinite universe, which would then be all that there could be, leaving no place for God.

    Unless it is God.
