It's because nothing is perfect.
"Nothing" can't be perfect, nor can it even be, so there are jiggles to the vacuum ground-state, as all simple states have degrees of instability, although less and less as we go upwards, and so certainly the simplest state of all—Nothing—is so absolutely unstable that it can even form; thus the resultant fluctuations of variations in and out of existence, which would be Occam's most basic simple state.
Particles or strings would form afterwards, all the way on up to us.
There are no miracles, as just about whatever can happen will eventually happen, for there is all the time in the Cosmos—eternity.
Look at our universe. Because it became, another one could. Then again and again, whenever, wherever, however.
and so certainly the simplest state of all—Nothing—is so absolutely unstable that it can even form;
So let me see if I understand this Austin. We have nothing the vacuum, which is fluctuating by nothing, and this is both the dark energy and the dark matter. Is that what you are posting?
That is the simplest we have Nothing.
I think Nobody is pleased with that conclusion.
My type of Rubik's Cube a very simple one.

An even simpler Rubik's Cube. One that even I can solve.

The simplest Rubik's Cube nothing.

Since Nothing cannot be, the next simplest state that could would be the vacuum fluctuations.
(Then maybe MJA is next)

I'm sorry Austin but I'm really not following this theory. Felix I guess has a similar theory but his at least requires particles somewhere to make it fluctuate if I understand him correctly. Remember it has to be simple AND understandable. So what makes the nothing vacuum in your theory to fluctuate? And if there is something in that vacuum to cause it to fluctuate what is it? You just can't say a nothing vacuum fluctuates all by itself. There is a principle out there called cause and effect.
But I don't want to appear argumentative so I'll just say I'll stick with my theory in that I can understand it and I believe something not NOTHING is causing the universal expansion and keeping the galaxies together other than nothing. How do these fluctuations work anyways in that you have it doing both expanding and contracting in unequal amounts?
Best,
Pat
P.S. So it's your theory that nothing was emitted from the big bang?

Remember, that German barmaid has to verstehen.
According to Andrew Newberg MD of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine the brain is wired for faith. Makes you wonder why that evolved in we humans and if you don't use it do you lose it? And is there a small percent of the population where this is not present?
