Hi Scott,

Is the theory of three better than the theory of four?

I recently had three bluejays come and visit me at my kitchen window. I was truly amazed by them and the number three. But if it had been four, would I have been more or less or equally amazed? I think the same, what about you?

Welcome to the quest,

Hi MJA, I don't think that the theory of three is better than the theory of four because the the three theory incorporates groups of four. As for the blue jays, you probably didn't notice but tri-interconnectivity was taking place (see the three theory). I agree with you that it wouldnt have made a difference if there were four instead of three, I think that you would have been equally amazed, however, if there were many more, as in 30, I think you would have been more amazed. I think most people are amazed when nature comes so close to habitation.

Humans have an affinity with the number 3, check out www.threes.com, where my theory is mentioned in the Features section.

Re: The Three Theory - 09-06-2007, 03:43 PM

There's loads isnt there. I put a few in the appendix of my theory that highlight it but theres so many more on www.threes.com, a site dedicated to the number 3.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the equation of the three theory, because I'm not a mathemetician and I don't know much about them. Does it seem right or another way to write it? Any other positive/negative points about the theory?

Scott;

I located your article at your web site.

Some very intelligent thought went into it.

In paragraph #6 page #1, when you describe the middle, is that similar to Pythagorean Triad?
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triad_%28symbol%29 ).

Also another site you might want to look at:
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triad )

Best to all,

Pat

Scott;

If the Pythagorean Triad illustrates your theory, then I would recommend you to:
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venn_diagram ):
Its a site that describes set theory and venn diagrams.

Good luck,

Pat

Re: The Three Theory - 09-06-2007, 06:13 PM

Hi profpat, thanks for taking the time to read me theory. While www.threes.com is a great website for all things three, it isn't actually my site, it's run by someone called Micheal Eck in the USA.
In paragraph 6, I mention the golden mean which is the dividing line between two opposites. I have never really thought about the pythagorean triad that you mentioned in the link, but it is similar to what I wrote. Notice that in that link it says, 'the Triad was considered by the Pythagoreans as the most beautiful number, as it is the only number to equal the sum of all the terms below it, and the only number whose sum with those below equals their product'. I think that shows that 3 was noticed all those years ago. I guess you could say that it is the same in the fact that there is an overlap (the golden mean) where all opposites join. If they are opposite (extremes), then they must both have a golden mean, something in common that they are both extreme from, if you get me.
Thanks for the link to wikipedia triads. I haven't come across some of them before but I have come across Becks' cognitive triad as I'm a psychology student at university and it makes sense.

Re: The Three Theory - 09-06-2007, 06:24 PM

Hi again, the Venn diagram is a good illustration of my theory but the bigger picture of the theory is that EVERYTHING is connected by 3 (2:1). Thats' a good link you mentioned as I've seen it before but never really knew what it represented. If you look at the example, with only A and B, it says that the overlap (same as pythagorean triad in my last post) is the space where the two conditions meet. Imagine how much overlap there is with the 3 circled Venn diagram and how much variety there is inside it for any 3 conditions.
