| | Re: From Dimensionless Point To Infinity Well thank you so much for your generous offer Rufe. I just have to get off my lazy butt and do it. My second exwife told me before I submitted it not to. She said to get a graphic designer, but I didn't listen to her when we were married either. Best, Pat | | | | 2nd degree Black Belt

OK no rush
I might just pick it up and tinker anyway
It actually looks a bit like what you would expect Einsteins' nokebook to look like
If I do anything to it I'll repost it in the same thread for you to see
Maybe that way I might be able to understand it a bit
Check out my site if you have a chance, especially INTS

Wouldn't the logical conclusion be: 1) The universe really is an illusion. or 2) .999999999999999999999999999...9% is illusion, ( space ) with only .0000000000000000000000000....1% being real. I believe in spatial expansion, but this borders on metaphysical. Your thoughts please; Pat | We wouldn't stay round, like the earth and other planets. Do you think we get round from the curve time thing? Or is being round an illusion coz everything is round and if infinity is real it would stretch us to oval then eventually back to dimensionless. But we could never reach infinity. I just think that it's strange that we are so much like animals and here we are with these brains and we can't even get past this earth. As though we are just some experiment to see what would happen with intelligent animals. | | | | 2nd degree Black Belt

| | Re: From Dimensionless Point To Infinity You are right Rufus I must be blind. So are you the bearded gentleman. A lot of my time was spent looking at pictures of Tara ( also my daughters name ) and her sister, Misty. Both very attractive women. I also believe that reality is an illusion, but as Nobody ( as in our member ) pointed out to me, while reality is an illusion, the illusion is real. Needless to say, I did not get through your entire thread, or even close; it was like a time warp back to the 60's when I imagine you weren't even born. Best, Pat | | | | 2nd degree Black Belt

It's funny how these threads wander off into infinity ;O} <--sideways happyface!
Thanks for checking the site out, and the compliments about my children
I'm still bearded but older than the pix, born in '43
You said "I also believe that reality is an illusion, but as Nobody ( as in our member ) pointed out to me, while reality is an illusion, the illusion is real.
I really don't know what you mean by "the illusion is real" ..do you mean 'seems real?'

| | Re: From Dimensionless Point To Infinity Hi Rufus; God you're older than I am. ( Born in 45 ) I believe we create our own "reality" and that it's incorporated into other's manifested reality. YA! Seems real. It looks real, smells like real, sounds like real. Hmmm! Maybe it is real. Best, Pat | | | | 2nd degree Black Belt

Nope ..taint
The barrier of the senses keeps our so-called brains from actually experiencing reality, but then the brain doesn't exist, nor do we, nor does reality, we just think it does.
The amazing part is how we collectively create it, in (as you say) such a convincing manner.
Sorry.. not trying to preach to the choir
I think I have only really stumbled across one or two in this place that are pure idealists, or as I say; figmentalist. Everyone else seems to be mixing classical materialism with it and that's a bit like a creationist spouting evolution.
August I get my pension

| | Re: From Dimensionless Point To Infinity Hi Rufus; Actually I do believe in both, creation and evolution. I think Genesis 1 listing the days in creation are actually the major steps in evolution. Starting with the heavens, ( strings, or some other fundamental substance ), Than space ( spirit moving over the face of the deep ) So right now we have Time, Space, and Motion, and the heavens ( small h and plural ) Next came light ( so far we are in agreement with what physicist believe ) And after light we have Heaven ( a description of a domed substance, a firmament, seperating the waters ( waves ) ) Once we have a particle then we have the formation of the Earth. Then the creation of the sun and moon. ( Latest theory is that the Earth conjealed together before the sun ) Now we are able to create life. 1st vegatation, next sea life then reptiles ( birds ), next mammals, and lastly man. ( I believe that is the evolutionist order of life ) Now how did somebody 3,000 years ago know what we are now just beginning to learn today through Science? Best, Pat
