Your TOE Theory Forum - please read - 04-19-2008, 09:11 AM

It has become apparent that some members have been posting their theories several times in this forum, sometimes with years in between each thread. Note that, by the definition of the TOE, each member can have at most one, and further that multiple-posting is against the forum guidelines.

Thus, I'd like to suggest that members only post their theory in this forum once. If members make several threads on the same theory, then this becomes very confusing to reply, or to remember who has replied to the thread. There are, of course, times when one will need to start a second thread in this forum; I'll summarise a few of the anticipated circumstances:
  • A member has made some progress on his/her theory which substantially changes it in some way. In this case, the member should start a new thread, and ask a moderator to close the previous thread to new posts.
  • A thread has become too long-- in this case it may be useful to start a new thread to continue on from the first. Threads will most likely be split up by moderators, however.

Please note that any post not adhering to the forum guidelines has a high risk of being removed by the moderators. Whilst "bumping" of threads is looked down upon, it is more favorable to bump your thread than to start a new thread on exactly the same topic. Try to add some more insight into the "bump" post, which gives someone something to reply to.

Thanks for reading this and for your cooperation, and feel free to PM me with any questions pertaining to this. I look forward to reading your TOE Theories!

Dear, Neut,
Thanks for the heads up.

It might be possible that members double post purely accidentally or what is more likely in my own case--absent mindedly and unaware of having done so.

So, I would suggest that when ever a member discovers a double post that they jot a quick Private Message to the "Offending" member and perhaps point them in the direction of where the extra posts are so that they can remove them or post them only in the most appropriate thread.

After all, we're not all rocket scientists here. LOLOL That's really out loud.

Best Wishes to all, Aaron

neutralino;
I’ve found many times it is best just to move their tread to a more appropriate forum or just merge their threads if they are of the same topic.

If they are indeed duplications they must be removed and the perpetrator punished severally.
