    Re: Is Thought in Motion?

    Again, I am not convinced of the spacetime concept, but I was thinking about your no-motion theory and thought of another metaphor that might help you. If spacetime is a fabric, as Einstein suggested, the threads in the fabric are not separate and distinct entities. What's more the fibers in each thread are also not distinct. We might think of the things around us as fibers in the spacetime fabric. They are part of a larger whole.

    Its nice to think that way, but I'm still convinced the observable universe is falling through a larger 4-space.

    All things are infinitely connected,
    As in a hologram—each part containing the whole;

    The universe is a seamless web of information.

    Allowing instant access and association,

    This loneliness leads us to company.

    For life’s great riddle of Oneness is that
    Mind really Matters; Matter ever Minds.

    (for those with heart for lover and close friends)

    Our shadows are touching, in the same shade—
    We embody, in third dimension made;
    We kiss, drift, cross into each other’s role;
    Spirits open—rainbows meld in our soul.
    Hello AustinTorn,

    Thanks for the thoughts,I won't pretend to know the answers.But I might have a question or two.I've heard that electrons have the ability to be in two different places at the same time?We are made up of atoms also,so if we can't separate from ourselves wholly,can we separate from ourselves partly?.........Ghosty

    Hi Ghost,

    Electrons and other sub-atomics are not just in two places at once but everywhere at once, until they have to be in a certain place, some of these end places more probable than others.

    It's like a crime wave. We don't know where the next crime will occur—it could occur anywhere, although, overall, on average, many of the crimes will be in the well known crime areas of downtown or on the wrong side of the tracks…

    Think of a bunch of tacks stuck in a map.

    The uncertainties above the micro atomic level cancel out in a macro level of decoherence, as they call it, so it's not like the moon can suddenly appear somewhere else.

    The atoms we are made of are quite separate and even change minute by minute, but luckily the replacement atoms are identical.

    It's like a old car that has so many new parts that it's not so old anymore; maybe not even the same car anymore, but it still runs according to its overall specs.

    einstein said e=mc2 so relatively speaking he wasn't there

    But his thoughts were if your theory is correct.

    Then, again, if my ideas have any merit (slim chance) then Einstein now exists in a 4D universe of resting light and has finally come to understand that E=mc2 is wrong in every way. There is no c because light doesn't move and energy is associated with matter being pulled along on the surface of a universal surface, not luminal motion. The same universe he thought was all encompassing and stationary moves through a background of resting light.
