    Simple holigraphic theory of everything

    I came up with this overly simplistic theory many years ago and was recently surprized to hear that the universe as a hologram is a serious possibilty. I am a mere amateur but would like to know what someone knowledgable thinks. So here's my theory:
    Steve’s Holographic Theory of Everything

    A particle is made up of intersecting waves originating from outside the universe and traveling at the speed of light. ( ~~~~~> o <~~~~~)
    ^
    )
    (

    Motion: Motion occurs by compressing/slowing one or more of the particle’s waves. Particles are propelled by their fastest waves in the direction of the slower wave.

    Forces
    Forces compress waves. When the force is small, doubling the force will almost double the compression, however, as the wave becomes more compressed it takes a greater force to achieve further compression. As a wave nears maximal compression the speed of the particle approaches the speed of light.

    Gravity:
    Waves slow as they travel through matter. The larger the mass, the greater the slowing. Particles move in the direction of their slowest wave, hence toward the mass. ( -------> o <----{ - - - }---- )

    Near Forces:
    Two particles in close proximity will have their proximal waves interfere with each other resulting in compression. Their more distal waves propel the particles toward each other. (- - - - - > o o <- - - - - )
    ^ ^
    : slowed wave)
    ::
    Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle
    A particle at rest will move within a small area due to the oscillation of its waves. The exact point of intersection is always changing. Since its waves are undetectable its exact location is uncertain. A wave in motion has its wave compressed. The larger amplitude of the compressed wave enlarges the area or uncertainty.

    Hi snrbig,

    You could look at my thread about a Holographic Universe:

    http://www.toequest.com/forum/toe-th...-universe.html

    It's not that I know it's true, but I was just checking it out. There would have to be interference patterns "out there" and we'd also have to suppose a real 2-D place "somewhere."

    Re: Simple holigraphic theory of everything

    I think current experimental evidence easily disproves the holographic concept even though there are some worthwhile applications of such a concept.

    BTW: Welcome to ToeQuest Snrbig.
