Space has existence, yet it has no substance, it may well be infinite, but infinity is beyond measurement so proof would be difficult to find, yet for the purpose of argument we may claim infinity for space but not for a Universe since a Universe has a beginning and an end.
All matter and energy exist within space in various sizes or forms and in various groupings, E.g. Sub-Atomic particle, Atom, planet, Solar System, Galaxy Universe etc.
We are all fairly familiar with these groupings and I was thinking about space when I had a thought which seemed to clarify for me at least a small conundrum a conundrum being for example an elephant hanging over the edge of a precipice and not falling because its tail is wrapped around a daisy.
I thought about gravity and what it may be and I realised that space cannot support matter; Space has no substance it is not like water which can give different types of buoyancy space cannot support anything.
Therefore anything that has mass is actually falling within an infinite space but since virtually everything has mass it is all falling at the same rate and time.
Now this does not mean that you cannot also travel in another direction if you have the velocity and momentum to do so but you would still be falling at the same rate as everything else and you would never know that you are falling because your fall would be relative.
Now I do not have the mathematical ability to prove this but I am sure that one of you clever bar stewards could.
Please help with this
