    hi temperature superconductivity

    the resistance of electron flows decreases as the temperature decreases. But magnetic field intensity also decreases as the temperature increases. Therefore there might be a much more subtle relationship between superconductivity and magnetic field intensity.

    the classical theory of superconductors is known as the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory (BCS). One of the three features is the formation of Cooper pairs of electrons. But electrons are fermions, which are ruled by the Pauli exclusion principle. But in a state of pairing, somehow the electrons were transformed into boson-like structures. What is it about low temperature that allows electrons to act like bosons?

    In outer space, the temperature is near absolute zero, if electrons are found, they must all be in bosonic states.

    Antonio;
    Have you noticed that the opposite is true for fermions? They require high temperature plasma fields to flow without resistance and if the sun is any example, they create greater magnetic intesity also.

    Are you trying to say that the bosons are opposite to the leptons?

    FORCE opp. Mass/Matter

    This could be a starting point for a TOE quest.

    Thanks Guille, my error. Just one of those senior moments when the brain malfunctions.
    Thanks;

    I have here a copy of the original paper by Bardeen, Cooper, and Schrieffer 'Physical Review, Vol 108 Num 5 December 1, 1957' The abstract started with the following excerpt

    "A theory of superconductivity is presented, based on the fact that the interaction between electrons resulting from virtual exchange of phonons is attractive when the energy difference between the electrons states involved is less than the phonon energy, [math]\hbar\omega[/math]. ...."

    the phonons, they are talking about are the bosonic states of fermionic electrons. Phonons are the quanta of sound waves and the speed sound is dependent on the temperature of the medium. Can there be a connection between phonons and photons and their speeds?

    Thanks Antonio I was confusing what you stated in your post with a lecture on "Plasma Physics" I attended several years ago. My apologies for my confusion; I think you may have a better understanding of a "senior moment" than Guille. He sill has 40 or 50 years yet before having the experience. J
    Thanks;
    Dave

    Dosn't this mean photelectron? (in the meaning of the photoelectric effect?)

    dleviwing,

    True, I need experience. Decades of it...

    Dave,

    I got interested in plasma physics in the mid 1970s. I visited Princeton Plasma Lab on the Tokomak device and was very impressed by what I saw. Talked to two research associates and they told me about the high current stress that is causing the magnetic coils to break apart. But 30 years later still no breakeven feasibility in plasma fusion. Even though the international cooperation is going ahead with its ITER project. http://www.iter.org

    the photoelectric effect is an entire different phenomenon. see it at

    Guille;
    For your understanding:
    A "senior moment" is when we old people have periods of memory lose or confusion brought about by "AGE". I truly hope you never have this experience.
    Best regards;
    Dave
