I voted for 5 of them Austin since they did not appear to be mutually exclusive. My actual vote would be that Profpat has it right.

    Best,

    Pat

    Re: Vote For a TOE

You left out one option, to my way of thinking.

    All of the above.

Of course, such an option would not satisfy our desire to reduce everything to it's most elementary construct, in order that we might somehow claim dominion of same.

The Theory Of Everything can never be subject to copyright, at least, as the claims against would stretch on forever, without resolution.

    We are such funny creatures.

    For the universe.

    Better check.....Oh good.

Wouldn't want to incur the wrath of the forum gods, lol......

    Re: Vote For a TOE

Some of my own extensions (right or wrong) to the necessarily short poll descriptions:

    1. Stuff, meaning matter-mass-energy, was always around—since that is the natural state of affairs. Possible problem: It is already made without ever having been made. Pro: Nothing cannot exist.

    2. A Balance of Nothing, all entities, being positive, negative, or both(neutral) must sum to zero. Existence is not from Nothing or nonexistence, but is literally nonexistence. Possible problem: Why would there be a balance? Pro: No real paradoxes beyond the Nothing part.

    3. Big Bang. Explosion and expansion from a really tiny point, perhaps some quantum fluctuations, inflation by use of negative gravitational energy. Possible problem: How come and what came before? Pro: Red-shift seems to indicate expansion.

    4. quantum fancy. All was/is a superposition of all possibilities, they all evolving therein, many going forward, with the one in which mammal consciousness appearing real-izing this universe’s path, it then becoming actual from then on. (Alternately, the universe is still in a superposition.) Possible problem: the quantum realm is not well understood. Pro: quantum mechanics works.

    5. Wild. The Infinite radiates to the CBR antenna which broadcasts a holographic virtual reality via an interference pattern. Problems: Many. Pro: All seems to be interconnected.

    6. Consciousness is the All. Possible Problem: Wouldn’t it have to belong to a Brain? Pro: Like a night dream.

    7. String theory. Possible problem: No observations/predictions, plus how did they get there? Pro: Could unify GR and quantum.

    8. God did it. Possible problem: Begs the question. No proofs. Pro: Feels good to be watched over.

    9. Multiple universes occur. Ours had the right stuff.

    10. None of the above.

No one can copyright a photo of what's in outer space, but I don't know about a TOE.

I'm just waiting for the argument when someone attempts to copyright 'inner space'.

    Oh, wait.....

That's already been done under the title of 'Intellectual Property.'

What will they think of next......

No you can not copyright an idea and so Einstein's Theory of Relativity is public domain, however, you can copyright a book regarding the subject. A copyright is valid for the life of the author plus 50 years after his or hers death.

    Dear Prof
    :
According to Mr. Brad Templeton, you're absolutely right.

Actually specific photo's are protected by copyright, you just can't prohibit people from taking photo's of outer space.

    Thaks for the link RP.
