I don't think we can claim to be totally conscious until our consciousness unites and bonds with awareness. I attained awareness through a great deal of devotional attention and notional consciousness with a Prayer. Now that would be perplexing I suppose to anyone not involved in the actual experience so I could only explain it this way; I could only see the words of the prayer, it was not like I could touch them so I more or less had to go into my feelings about the prayer, I could not use any of my other senses like smell so it was like breathing in the prayer, I could not taste the prayer so it had to get into my sensation system. I could not hear or listen to anyone saying the prayer....so I think my consciousness took the prayer to higher processes wherein I attained from the experience "awareness." Now this was a fascinating and strange epiphany and enlightenment for me....
